Work on back width to minimize yur thick waist. Like it was mentioned earlier, create the illusion that u want
Whats the typical back measurement suppose to be
For thickness or width I should be concentrating on more
My back routine looks like this
Start off with
Machine hammer strength lat pull downs 3 sets 10-12 reps
Wide grip seated row 3 set 10-12 reps
Bb rows 3 sets 10-12 reps
Machine rows 3 sets 10-12 reps
Standing lat pushdowns 3 sets 10-12 reps
Deadlifts
If throwimg deads in my back routine ( usually I wait later on durig the week), I do them first, but usually pretty spent if I max out at 545lbs, I dont try to max out on back days tho ill do 405 for reps, then dropset for reps on deadsMy fav finisher for lat width is dumbbell pullovers. I get better stretch with these than the standing straight arm pulley version
I usually warm up with 30% lighter weight to get the shoulder girdle and upper lat loose. Then 4 working sets. You can experiment with straight arms vs bent arms.
I'm fairly thick waisted (36" jeans) but have a 49" chest.
I include pullovers in every back workout.
Important to include sets for width, thickness in every workout, again emphasizing more sets for your weaknesses
Good to see you dead lifting, but be careful and use impeccable form. I heard once if your shins don't have scabs on them you're doing them wrong. I have jacked up discs in lower back so traditional reads are out for me. Gonna give trapbar deads a go next week.
Cant beat deads for back thickness imo
