Hi guys, hope you have the patience to read my story!
About 10 weeks ago I visited an well respected endocrinologist here in the UK.. My goal was to come off of a 2 year stint of self prescribed testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and do so under medical supervision. I'm hoping that now that I'm no longer overtraining, have modified my diet to a high-fat paleo type deal, supplementing Vit D etc, that I may achieve an acceptable level of well-being without testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). If I'm not where I want to be after 1 year, I'll go about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in the correct way.. with a doctor!
At my first visit with said endo, bloods revealed I had LH and FSH at 0, e2 slightly above range (around 50 in the UK range) and Testosterone was above top end range. My endo put me on 1mg Adex daily, told me to drop Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and reduce my test dosage from 175mg to 100mg per week. This was all in an effort to de-supress my gonadotrophins. I felt much better actually as my e2 came back through range and Test levels came down to a more reasonable level. Since then I suspect my e2 has crashed.. my mood is pretty flat, libido is not great and I'm suffering occasional headaches that I can't put down to anything else. At my last visit I told him that I would now prefer to wait until May of next year to attempt restart, as this is when I will finish my studies. He advised me to stay on 1mg Adex until the results of further bloods came through.
What I intend to do, at least until I see him next (5 weeks time) is to keep Test at 100mg/w add back in Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) at 250iu 2xweek and back off the Adex to .5 or .25 mg 2xweek. My question is... since I am on a pretty whopping dose of Adex at present, do I need to taper down to .25 2xweek or can I drop straight to that? I'm concerned about estro rebound...
