6 months in on TRT and new Doc wants me off.....???

I went to see urologist today (Not the doc who prescribed testosterone cypionate to me) and he wants me off TRT 100mg test cyp for two months to get baseline labs. He is concerned about my Hemoglobin and my Creatinine levels.

Hemoglobin 17.7 12.6-17.7
Creatinine, Serum 1.22 0.76-1.27

Is this necessary.....?? I told him i was donated blood every 2 months to deal with hematocrit level..... it was 53 at one point so i am taking care of that.

Let me know what you guys think

Don't walk, RUN from this bozo. Any doc worth two shits would know what causes a rise in hemoglobin, and forcing a TRT patient to go back to his baseline levels is just asinine. Creatinine can be elevated by a ton of factors, including being dehydrated during the draw. I can't believe these guys are supposed to be smarter than the rest of us. Blows my mind.

You're doing the right thing by donating, keep it up! :)

Edit: 17.7 Hb is 53.1 HCT. You're either not donating enough, or you should look into apheresis like I do. That drops your hematocrit/hemoglobin rather quickly and can be done every 7 days. (Hb * 3 = HCT)

I think Halfwit is correct, you need to find another doctor as this one does not sound like he is very knowledgeable about TRT.

Your estradiol looks too low. Taking an AI? You might need to back off it some.

Might want to looks for ways to improve your LDL.

Your TSH is putting you possibly in hypothyroid territory.

For creatinine, has it deteriorated greatly recently? You are still in the normal range. I don't think test injections affect your kidneys. I don't know why you would have to come of TRT for a kidney problem. I could be wrong though.

The rest of your numbers look good.

I agree with Megatron. You can correct your cholesterol and LDL with eating less fat in your diet. Investigate your TSH further. Also, if you take a good amount of supplements, this will increase your creatinine.

i disagree.. its not about eating less fat.. its about eating the right fats in the right ratio to each other

@ Megatron28.... no AI.... i'd be doing more damage taking them with low Estradiol numbers anyway. This test was taken in August of this year 7 days after injection...(At trough)... This creatinine lab is new so this will be a marker for the next time i get labs and see whats what from there.

I originally got on test cypionate for erection difficulty. But as the Urologist broke it down to me..... Testosterone is not the contributing factor in erections...vasodilation is.... Got a script for Cialis and Viagra. Asked about trimix.... he didn't want me on that yet....

To do list... Cardio.... weightlifting for general health(already doing)..... water for hydration......

Agreed. This has to be a fly by night Endo. No way is it a knowledgeable TRT Endo or TRT doc.
Baseline levels= Shit quality life!
Funny how they tell each guy "hey just cut out your T and stop it for a while"....
what the fuck kind of advice is that???
I had an Endo like this once too. He said: "stop everything so I can see your baseline levels"....
16 months of baseline was not enough for him I guess.

Ahh okay, that makes sense. I agree with Mega's assessment. Are you taking fish oil? 3J hit it right on the money, that it's not necessarily reducing fats, it's taking in the right kind of fats that make the difference. Keep at the physical fitness and watching what you eat. That on top of getting a proper TRT protocol will make a HUGE difference for you. I suspect your E2 will go up to optimal once you're dialed in correctly as well.

Thanks all for input..... The main reason for even going is because of my erections.... Uro gave me script for Cialis and Viagra. So instead od does 5mg tabs a day... i decided to take 20mg just to see....and i was happy with result Felt like i was 18 again for 3 days!! My opinion is that i have some vascular issue with blow flow to the "Love department"..... I will have to further investigate why that is......

How's the blood pressure? I know that is a very common reason for ED. Low T can do that, but I found it was more of a desire issue for me than anything. I could get it up (with some coaxing), but really didn't have the desire to.

I do enjoy cialis though. Makes you feel like you could drive nails with your johnson. ;)

Blood pressure is great when i keep up with my gallon of water a day.... Without the gallon of water a day BP is usually 130/70 or 80 but the last 2 times a donated blood my BP was 118/70 and 120/70.... (With water intake)
