6 Weeks out....

Hi everyone,

I am brand new to this board but not the sport or bodybuilding forums. Right now I am dieting for a show on Jan 20th. Right now my diet is based around cycling carbs, protein, and fat levels. My carbs look something like this:

Day 1 : 140-150 grams
Day 2 : 75 - 85 grams
Day 3 : 30-40 grams

My protein is at 240 - 250 everyday and my fat intake always stays right around 20 grams. I have one cheat day per week where I try to keep the foods reasonable and use them as a carb up. That day is usually saturdays and then I spend all day Sunday in a carbohydrate coma....LOL. Anyway, I started dieting 2.5 weeks ago and I am down to 224 lbs from 230lbs. My stats are : 22 years old, 6'0, 224 lbs. Bodyfat somewhere around 12-14%.
My supplement program consists of ThermodynamX by EAS, Prolab Glutamine 30-40 grams per day, Lipoderm-Y, 3 grams of ALA per day, Multi-V, and Isopure. I have NutraSport's ECA Stack and was thinking of switching to that for the last six weeks of the diet?


Please evaluate and respond with constructive criticism if needed.

Bro in all honesty I think you may get disappointed. 8 weeks is not enough time to allow yourself to diet for a show. Especially with that high of BF. I would've done at least 12 weeks.

As far as diet goes. I think you are dieting too extreme, trying to make up for lost time. You are only getting about 1700 calories on you carb up days, and less than that on your low carb days.
That is WAYY too low for someone of your size. You are going to start losing a lot of muscle mass quickly.

IMO, I think it would be better to wait. Find a show that allows you more time to diet down properly. You want to look your best on stage, why settle for less?

If you have pictures of what you look like now, then post them up. It would help better critique you......

I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear, but I am being honest!
 
That's cool bro. I appreciate it. I will try to get some pics taken tonight sometime and get them developed so I can scan them. Would you suggest upping my carbs, protein, and fat? I'm very open to advice.

Well technically you should have figured out your maintenance caloric needs, then dropped a few hundred calories each week. Taking from mostly Carbs. Keep the protien HIGH. Add additional EFA(Healthy fats) to make up for some lost calories.

Yeah get some pics up asap, that would help a lot.....
 
At 12-14% bodyfat, I would tend to agree that eight weeks is probably not enough time. I would also like to see some pics and that way we could help a little more. :)
 
I believe I read that you are only taking in 20grams of fat per day. Is that on top of supplemental fats from flax oil and whatnot? If not, then you aren't taking in enough fat. Are you taking flax oil or Udo's Oil right now?
