a decade of misery

i have been diagnosed with secondary hypogonadism due to my abuse of AAS almost a decade ago. yes its been so long and ive had severe ED and no libido ever since. my doctor is going to put me on a 3 month trial of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) but im scared that i wont respond and that it wont work for me. the reason i suspect this is because last year i tried self treating with test and i took it for 5 weeks and it had no effect on me. what are the chances of me not responding to trt?

Honestly testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is an ongoing process. You're going to be fine-tuning your hormones under supervision to ensure that you do respond, which of course is going to take some time. 5 weeks on a self-prescribed testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is honestly not enough time to see if you're making any improvements as the symptoms associated with low-T can take much longer to go away even once you have proper hormone levels. Stick with it, and do a TON of reading on this stuff - not all doctors are created equal, so you'll need to become as educated (if not more so) than they are when it comes to getting where you want to be.

If all else fails, you can always look into IMT which seem to be a really good group of guys.

Good luck! :)

Sometimes it takes longer than 5 weeks for it to get to it's peak. How many mg's were you taking a week? My doc had me on 300mg a week and I felt awesome.

The fact that you still felt bad tells me that testosterone may not be where the problem is. Look into estrogen. There are several different hormones that can cause this. Just because test didnt work doesnt mean you are not fixable. The key is to balance your entire hormone profile then see how you feel. You are fixable.
