a diet

i know that every post cannot be answered totally b/c no one has that kind of time and an individual is just that. I just need some advice if it is out there... 240lbs, 5'11 about 16-17% body fat. Carry all of my weight around the mid-section...used to work out religiously and have recently started back lifting, muscle memory is great. Want to trim up for summer and then eventually start back on a cycle. Need info on a good cutting diet...have tried EVERY diet under the sun...whats the best plan fellas? Am a pretty big drinker on the weekends too(yeah, i know the deal with that). Got huge at one point in my life, but all i wanna do is shred that fat off. My weight lifting program works great for me...my cardio sucks(no set plan). What kind of diet plan/cardio plan would work for me???

p.s. Cardio in the AM or PM? Suggestions? any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
i like cardio in am on empty stomach for fat burning . as for diet its not my specialty but i would think something along the line of 5-6 days a week low carb and 1-2 days carb up . keep plenty of protein/lean meat in the diet along with healthy fats .
