Big D here (yes my nickname is a joke as you'll soon see).
Stats: Age - 44, Height 5'4", Weight 165, Total Test 3 years ago of 310.
Training: Lifted and competed in bodybuilding from 18-20, stopped lifting for 20 years in a black hole marriage, hit the gym again in 2006 and am bigger than I ever was.
I've noticed my sex drive dwindling in the past year or so. When I first met my new wife (remarried last year) we were banging every night. Now once a week is the norm, and sometimes I can't even fucking finish. That REALLY pisses me off. I tried broaching the subject of HRT with my doctor back when I had the TT checked, and he said that was too close to AAS for him and wasn't an option.
Not interested in the UGL option since I like not being someone's piece of ass in prison. I found an "Anti-Aging" clinic nearby, the Dr.'s website sounds like he knows what he's talking about with regard to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). However, he's got a bunch of other bullshit about Vitamin D testing, adrenal fatigue, etc. that has absolutely no bearing on low test. I have a feeling that to get the HRT he would make me also follow his other dumb shit protocols when all I really want is HRT.
So to the questions:
1) Why should I trust some company I found on the internetz to handle something as precious as my hormonal health? Not being a smartass, just earnestly asking.
2) How often are blood tests taken to monitor the HRT progress? Are the tests handled the same as the initial test, going to a Labcorp location to have the blood drawn?
3) What kind of support structure can Maximus HRT provide? Example: I have no idea how to even inject myself and where to do it. How to prep the syringe. How to dispose of them.
4) Being the typical go-for-it, balls to the wall lifter who would love to see what I could do on the test levels I squandered as a young adult, I'm ready to fill out the questionnaire right now and get this shit rolling. My awesome wife, though, feels that I'd be safer going to a doctor for this. How can I reassure her (and me too I guess) that I'm in safe hands with Maximus?
5) Last one: If for some reason the HRT fucks me up and I feel worse than before, with fucked hormone levels, does the 44-year old body have the capability to get back to "normal," i.e. the way I feel now?
Honest questions from a truly interested lifter. Did I mention I want to fuck with gusto again too??
