Absolute Newb with Questions

Big D here (yes my nickname is a joke as you'll soon see).

Stats: Age - 44, Height 5'4", Weight 165, Total Test 3 years ago of 310.

Training: Lifted and competed in bodybuilding from 18-20, stopped lifting for 20 years in a black hole marriage, hit the gym again in 2006 and am bigger than I ever was.

I've noticed my sex drive dwindling in the past year or so. When I first met my new wife (remarried last year) we were banging every night. Now once a week is the norm, and sometimes I can't even fucking finish. That REALLY pisses me off. I tried broaching the subject of HRT with my doctor back when I had the TT checked, and he said that was too close to AAS for him and wasn't an option.

Not interested in the UGL option since I like not being someone's piece of ass in prison. I found an "Anti-Aging" clinic nearby, the Dr.'s website sounds like he knows what he's talking about with regard to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). However, he's got a bunch of other bullshit about Vitamin D testing, adrenal fatigue, etc. that has absolutely no bearing on low test. I have a feeling that to get the HRT he would make me also follow his other dumb shit protocols when all I really want is HRT.

So to the questions:

1) Why should I trust some company I found on the internetz to handle something as precious as my hormonal health? Not being a smartass, just earnestly asking.

2) How often are blood tests taken to monitor the HRT progress? Are the tests handled the same as the initial test, going to a Labcorp location to have the blood drawn?

3) What kind of support structure can Maximus HRT provide? Example: I have no idea how to even inject myself and where to do it. How to prep the syringe. How to dispose of them.

4) Being the typical go-for-it, balls to the wall lifter who would love to see what I could do on the test levels I squandered as a young adult, I'm ready to fill out the questionnaire right now and get this shit rolling. My awesome wife, though, feels that I'd be safer going to a doctor for this. How can I reassure her (and me too I guess) that I'm in safe hands with Maximus?

5) Last one: If for some reason the HRT fucks me up and I feel worse than before, with fucked hormone levels, does the 44-year old body have the capability to get back to "normal," i.e. the way I feel now?

Honest questions from a truly interested lifter. Did I mention I want to fuck with gusto again too??

Filling out the initial paperwork with Maximus takes a minimal amount of time and costs nothing. Until that is done however, Chip cannot help you. As far as trusting some company you found on the internet, that's your call. You can go and see your doctor (who in all honesty probably knows less about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) than most people in this forum, let alone Chip), have him/her put you on 200mgs/every 2 weeks, no Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and no Aromatase inhibitor (AI). You will feel like shit and be in worse condition than before but at least you will be in the "trusted" hands of a doctor. What made me call Maximus were the testimonials of actual clients. These guys aren't reps and aren't paid to endorse Maximus. Neither am I. We are all just completely satisfied customers who are extremely thankful that someone stepped up and pointed us in the right direction and actually cares about our physical well being. Good luck to you.

Educate yourself more before you take the plunge. Its obvious you know little because vitamin D and Adrenals play a big role in low test.

Well, if you want your wife to make your decisions for you or your general practicioner who will refuse you Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) and give you no more than 100mg a week which will make you feel alright for 3 days out of the week, go right ahead! Everyone has to learn somehow, and sometimes trial and error is what it takes. lol Blame wifey when you are acting like a menopausal woman half the week every week for making you see the GP. Hell he may not even give you test since your test levels are "in range". "In range" is a joke by the way. I once argued with my GP that my test levels were indeed low for my age when he claimed that 300 was not low. I then brought up that 50 years ago the average test level for even 60 year old men was near 800. Now it is like half that or worse. And he knew this statistic and agreed! You see, these idiots treat patients out of fear, they run their practice out of fear, and will treat you out of fear. Have fun with that.

railrider- I'll be the first to admit I need educating. I have ordered the book Testosterone: A Man's Guide by Nelson Vergel. Looked to be the most up-to-date publication I could find. I based my comment about vitamin D and adrenals from the anti-aging guy's website, it just seemed like he was pushing those items more than HRT.

mlc31 - you are right, I understand all the points you made and agree. Once I feel that I have a better handle on understanding all the intricacies of HRT I plan to submit my info.

cjw - wifey points well taken! Not to come to the defense of GP's in any way but I realize they have to be a jack of all trades and master of none. Too bad there aren't more who specialize in HRT.

As I said I admit I'm a total newb in this so I greatly appreciate the info.

I had the same questions when I started out as there is a negative connotation regarding services over the internet; especially delicate issues like this.

The reason why I chose Chip is because of his client testimonials. I mean, he would not be in business today if he wasn't doing something right. There are a lot of clients that are happy with his services so I took the plunge.

Hi Jows6, tried PMing you but apparently I don't have permissions to send a message.

I have spent a couple of hours cruising this forum and finished reading the book I mentioned above. Ready to take the plunge (pun intended) and start feeling like myself.

I don't post a lot of the forums, but when I do, I feel compelled to. I'm glad you've decided to take the plunge. And when I did, I can tell you honestly, it changed my life so much so for the better. Choosing Chip was the way to go, period. I don't think I'd have the positive results in my life if it weren't for him specifically. He truly cares about his clients, and we him as he is crazy smart about HRT, and knows how to return you to hormonal health. I wish you all the best!!!!

3J's Nutrition Network is a proud sponsor of Maximus HRT....

chip is the only way to go guys
