adding some tricep work

Princess

pretty boy
I've decided to add a little more tricep work to my bench routine. I do a lot of pressing movements- flat bench, decline bench, board presses and dumbell presses (and sometimes hammerstrength chest press), but very little direct tricep work.
I'm going to add one tricep exercize (3 sets). what do you kids think would be the most beneficial? tate presses? decline bench (i need a spotter for that and don't always have one)?
any ideas?

reverse grip benches , skull crushers , jm presses , tate presses etc.
with the exceptions of the skull crushers these are all pressing movements as well so i would back off of some of my other pressing movements , except flat bench of course .
ps i am extra fond of reverse grip but it does need a handoff and a spotter especially till you get used to it .

i would cycle them all at one point or another..
boards absolutely fry my tri's especially when i use a close grip..

good list
reverse grip benches
CG benches
tate pres
skulls
lockouts 5 inch range of motion
pushdowns with various attachments

i love reverse grips too but i'm petrified of breaking my nose without a handoff.
I'm going to back off the hammerstrength chest press and stick with lat, delt, and tricep work after benching.
I think i'll do some dumbell skulls or tate presses- the curl bars in my gym are upstairs in the sissy area i never go to.

kinda new here...how do you do the reverse grip bench? completely no idea....

just like a regular flat bench press but your grip is reversed (instead of the back of your hands facing you, you turn your hands around and your palms face you as you grip the bar from the other side).
You bring the bar down to your upper abs and back up again- it totally hits your triceps.
you need a handoff because the weight is unracked with basically just your thumbs holding it.

You didnt mention inclines. If you want more work on your triceps, use close grip, that should wear them out pretty quick.

OH gawd no- they hate eachother.
chris taylor runs the freak forum on deepsquatter where my place used to be before my traffic ran jason burnell's ISP costs through the roof. He's another LI native who has set some records i believe. He works out with john bernor, lil mendy, craig schmalz, sometimes joel torranzo, and a few others i'm not sure if you'd know.
I've tried his tricep hell routine... whatever wierd concoction of less than dubious acts that you're thinking of is probably more fun.
:)
