ALA. What is it good for other then an antioxidant?

Carbohydrate metabolism and liver protection. Evidently, ALA is rather unique in that it acts as an antiox in both the water and lipid phases (as opposed to ascorbate (water), tocopherols (lipid))
It is currently being experimented w/ intravenously for a number of disease entities.

Alpha Lipoic Acid: is unmatched at managing insulin and shuttling carbohydrates away from fat cells and diverting it to muscle tissue. Don't under estimate this function in fat loss; controlling insulin and how your body utilizes it is an extremely important factor in winning the battle of the bulge.
