Always run out prescription early...

So this is the 2nd time that I've ran out testosterone early. No, I'm not abusing it. I store it in a safe location upside down sometimes, but it shouldn't leak. I'm prescribed to do 1.5cc / 2 weeks, but I've read that I should be doing twice a week, so 1.5cc/4 = 0.375cc / 3.5 days.

I'm always running out about 2 weeks early. Is it because of my measurement? There's really not a easy way to do 0.375 on my syringe... So I try to measure between 0.35 and 0.4...

How should I approach my doc and ask for a early refill? It took hell last time to get him to refill for me early. I can ride out 2 weeks, but last time that happend, I had a CRAZY,Suicidal mood swing...

I wouldn't suggest asking. You're just going to call into question your ability to handle self-injection. How are you off by that much? How big are your vials? You may just have to adjust how you are reading the syringe a little so that you come out even.

Two things. You are probably off on your measurements. It is hard to measure out that small of a dose in a 3cc barrel. Maybe you could ask you pharmacy if they could get you 1cc barrels.

The other thing is that there is always a little bit that gets left in the vial and wasted. Not much, but a little bit.

Why are you going through your doc to get a new vial? Why not just tell your pharmacy that you need a refill? You are allowed to refill a prescription before you are completely out. It is encouraged. You need to build in a little cushion in case they have issues filling the prescription. They don't want you to ask for a refill on the day you run out.

My doc says I need to call in every time to get a refill because it's a controlled substance... My doc is also on vacation this week, wont be back until next week, but the supervising doc refuses to refill for me :/

This is actually normal and your doctor shouldn't question you as you will ALWAYS lose some to improper injection technique as well as some of the oil sticking to the syringe. You're not getting the testosterone from your doc directly are you?

Yea last time this happened he said he won't be able to refill for me again, so I scheduled an appointment with him, and took a lot of convincing on my part to get him to refill for me. This time happened again, made me wonder if the pharmacy is ripping me off, or if my apartment people are using, made me really paranoid because I'm worried I might lose testosterone for a period of time until the next refill, and last time I had a lapse of like a week and it caused me to have lots and lots of mood swings... It was horrible! So to convince him that I am not abusing it, I suggested that I'll just come to get injected by him or his nurse, but he said it's fine, I can inject at home. And it happened again this time. I don't know if he will refill for me this time... I got a blood work done today on my testosterone... Hopefully that will prove I am not abusing...

Directly from him? No, I get it from a pharmacy.

So basically, he is not writing a script for you with any refills on it. He could if he wanted to.

Regardless, I would still just call the automated telephone line your pharmacy has and order a refill. They will deal with the doctor for you and get it refilled.

I already said this in the other thread, but I think it's time for a new doc. This guy has an ego problem and shouldn't be treating you like a child.

Already tried. The supervising doctor would not authorize it. (My doc is a PA under his supervision). The supervising doc said there's nothing on the chart that said about a dose increase and at the current dose of 1cc/2week I should have at least 2 more months dosage left. My doc authorized me to go from 1cc/2week to 1.5cc/2week a month ago, but I guess he forgot to note it on the chart. But it pisses me off that now he's on vacation, and I called the supervising doc this morning and he said "there's nothing I can do for you, I got other patients to see, I gotta go."......

Without outright saying here, which is in poor taste - I'll just suggest that you do some shopping at alternative locations, off-setting this deficit until you can find a new doctor. FYI: In most states, a PA cannot prescribe a controlled substance, and therefore cannot counsel you on their use. Sounds like these clowns don't value their patients, so it's definitely time to move on.

Wait. Two months. I thought you said you were only off about two weeks. That's a huge difference. Is this entirely due to the dosage increase that wasn't charted? Isn't it on your actual prescription you got last time?

How much are you taking in mg per week? And how many mg's are in your vial? And what strength is your test expressed in mg's per ml.

In my opinion, if I was on TRT and in your situation, that being you only receive enough to last x amount of time and then you're prescribed a new vial, I would have a back up vial so that I didn't end up in this predicament. There are plenty of reputable online sources that ship domestically and could save you a big headache. What if you muck up an injection? What if you drop the vial and it breaks? Just thinking ahead. Otherwise, time for a new doctor.

That's what I'm hinting at, but we're not supposed to discuss non-pharmacy sources in this forum. :p

He's actually a really cool guy, but I feel like all his decisions come from the supervising doc. The supervising doc is another story... Just googled him today, and the 4th result is a Department of Justice notice from 2 years ago that he owes some $800,000 to the IRS and is to serve 30 months in jail. I called the DA office today to verify the story, and funny they asked me: "Why are you asking about this person, he's still serving his 30 month term in jail." It makes all the sense now that the supervising doc's name isn't anywhere to be found on the clinic's doors, websites, etc... And I think from the call I had this morning with this supervising doc, he sounded like he's pretty much a prick and wants to be a dick to me.

Well, I was on 1cc / 2 weeks, 1cc is 200mg. But my test was really low, so about 1.5 months ago, the PA told me to do 1.5cc/2 weeks.

Huh? How can he supervise and write scripts from jail?
