Anger about TRT in MMA

I couldn't tell whether this belonged in the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) forum or the MMA forum, so sorry if it's in the wrong place. :)

Jon Jones Speaks Out Against testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) Usage - "It's Absolutely Terrible" | MMAWeekly.com

“I think it’s terrible. I think it’s absolutely terrible if you’re going to consider yourself an athlete. testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) would be perfect for Chael Sonnen if he wasn’t competing in one of the toughest sports in the world,” Jones stated.

“I think Chael Sonnen made tons of money when he was a young guy, and now he’s an older guy. And now just to be able to take a drug and super-enhance yourself back to where you were in your 20***8242;s is bull.”

I can agree with him. It could get dangerous and it could cost someone thier health. Other sports that arent contact, im not sure how i feel because you still have to have the skills, dedication and hard work.

HRT should NOT be an issue in ANY sport. passing the levels yes, but not hrt.

Agreed. It needs to be viewed as a medical issue and treated as such. Doing anything other than that does it a disservice and ultimately could jeopardize those in need from being able to get it.

this is exactly how i feel. set a bar, and say "if you're over this, you're taking too much t." but insisting everyone play with uneven levels of androgens seems less fair to me.

No kiddin', especially when you consider the men who have no problems with their hormones, and some even have natural over-the-top levels. So, if anything, doping levels the playing field. I laugh about all this crap I hear about lance armstrong lately. People don't even know anything about steroids. They believe the garbage on how it will make you a super-human without any type of work or anything of the sort. And then there's the fact that the first word that comes to mind in a lot of ignorant people is 'cheating' when steroids are even mentioned. It pisses me right off because I've always had a deficiency, and now I'm going through tons of crap trying to find a doctor to give me a legal script, despite the fact I've had loads of bloodwork done that backs up my request for treatment.
