Another Cardio Question

I'm just beginning to get back into working out trying to shed my gut. I know that I would like to use cardio along with lifting 4x a week. I currently weigh 255 and about 20% body fat, I would like to get down to about 225. To maximize the fat loss would you suggest doing cardio everyday? Also at what intensity should I do cardio at. I played some ball in college and have always had the mindset that no pain ='s no gain. Should I always push myself every time or would doing a slow steady decent pace be more effective?

I'd get into resistance training hiit 5x a week. Along with your lifting and dieting you should see quick results. Taking weekends off is just as important as training.

Thanks for the reply. I have been looking around here and have seen lots of things that have interested me. I kinda feel like a noob since so many things have changed in the 15 years since I have been away from the game. I've been kind of lucky to have the frame where people ask me if I work out when I havent touched a weight in 15 years. I always told them wait till you see me without my shirt...lol. Anyways thanks for the input. I see your're from MN Alexus, so am I

When doing the cardio it could be very helpful to wear a heart rate monitor. This helps you to stay in a target heart range when doing your cardio. I am amazed at how many people I see at the gym just walking on those treadmills and I know their heart rate never breaks 100 beats per minute. It's also good to know if you're hitting the anaerobic zone because this does not burn body fat like as if you kept your heart rate at 60-70% which could be around 125 to 145 bpm.

I think cardio exercise is best way to get good results in natural way and be fit,
i also doing cardio exercise in morning...

Cardio in the morning before you eat will burn significantly more fat. Your muscle glycogen is very low from not eating for (insert amount of time you sleep) hours, and the body will utilize fat stores as energy.

And I second what everyone else already said about HIIT, and moderation. If you exercise hard, you must rest hard too. Don't over do it.

I always believed that doing cardio in the morning on an empty stomach was the way to go too but then I read some stuff that says you should never do that since it causes muscle loss not fat loss.

The human body doesn't scavenge muscle tissue easily. The majority of the time you are at least slightly anabolic. It's actually quite difficult to get your body into a fully catabolic state.

If you work out in the morning, you will start with any glycogen that is remaining, which will be minimal. Then, your body will start utilizing fats to catalyze the production of ATP. Sure, if you workout long enough, you will catabolize a minute amount of muscle. That is why you limit cardio to less than 45-60 minutes max.

I wasnt quite sure of the reasoning for that, its been a long time since Ive been in the loop. If I'm on the keto diet, what would be the best cardio workout to incorporate with that?
