Another fucking hernia surgery!!!!!!

Its VERY common to have, and ya its a simple in and out surgery. Sometime people with have them right from birth, and not know for years.

Not related, but personal experience with a herniated disk in my spine, Get the surgery asap, 6 weeks no lifting (for me), It's better to not have pain or chance of further injury. than to have further injury.
(herniated disk was from an accident at work - Heavy equipment operator...)

Please a herniated disk has NOTHING to do or like a soft tissue hernia through the stomach wall. One is with cartilage and spinal bone the other is your guts, soft tissue.
Hernia surgery is to cut off tissue if necessary and close up a hole.

No even closely related in any way. WTF are we talking about here. Recovery is 100% different case. Please stay on thread.

I had one from birth and fixed in 80' as I have posted. Then tore a new hole at Same location. Pain in recovery has nothing to do with the total recovery. It is a mesh they put in and you stomach wall has to grow into it. Even with little to no pain if it isn't welded tight/solid you are fvcked. Is this the second thread on this OP??

Update: 2 days post OP today, feel good, i can walk around no problem, it just takes me a lil longer than normal. Pain is minimal. I am taking pain meds as directed. Last surgery i tried to tough it out and only took pain med when it got unbearable, which was stupid looking back. Have to go back in two week to see the surgeon, im not going to base when i start lifting again solely one what he says, im gonna be cautious and go back when i feel im able to. Im fucking bored though and its only two days post lol.

Bro I been out of work and the gym 3 weeks and I feel like it's been a year and I'm going to die of boredom. I want to kill some iron so bad. I feel really good at 3 weeks being we had the same exact surgery I'm guessing it'll be a pretty similar recovery for you. I'm sure it helps we are both in better shape then 90% of the regular population.

Ohhhhh man, i went back after two weeks bro!!! Cardio, light calves and light arms, thats all i can do. I literally was about to drive myself mental lol. The gym is what keep me grounded so take that away, and its no good. How you feeling now bro?

How long would you figure before you could do compound lifts? Direct ab work?

6 or more weeks man, im lifting very light and very limited exercises right now, two weeks after. Ill get an update from the surgeon in a week. But i know im not close to ready for compound movements, or anything heavy.

I'm almost at 4 weeks post-surgery. Feeling fine but not sure whether it's just me or if more healing needs to take place. Doc said go ahead and do some cardio. 1 week later start lifting light and go from there. I asked if there was a set time when everything was healed and I could go to lifting heavier, she said no...it all depends on the person. Which kinda sucks since I really want (And feel) like I can lift heavy now.

It does depend on the person, thatd why doctors can only tell you so much. I wouldnt lift heavy after 4 weeks, i would start light and slowly work your way up. In 4 weeks the internals if the wound arent fully healed. If you break the incision and re inure yourself its gonna be a lot worse than the initial hernia. Just chill and get back into it slow.

I'm 3 days from 6 weeks absent and I haven't went to the gym except to tan. I done just as the dr said. I felt really good at about the end of week 4 but by week 6 you can tell you thoroughly healed. I suggest just chillaxin and watching netflix. Keep your protien high that's the first thing I could tell that made a big difference in maintaining mass. I've gotten pretty fat though I been eating cake and shit I figured I'd enjoy it.

Bro, netflix is gettin abused!! I went back here and there, thats it, calves arms, and a few machines for other parts, VERY minimal work at best. 25 reps a set with super light weight, just enough to have some tension. The protein is way up, and so is the goodies bro, had 4 bowls of lucky charms back to back, lots of sweets my diet is pretty much whatever i wanna eat. Ive actually grown, minimal fat gain too so im actually pretty pleased. Im still healing though, my hernia was quite large so some fluid filled in where it was so i have a lil lump where the incision was so meh whatever it will dissipate within a few weeks.
