Any advice on TRT for a teenager?

Hello, I'm a 19 year old (M) and my test levels are 255...that is too low for a teen right? Should i get on TRT? Is there a way I can permanently fix this or will be dependent on TRT for the rest of my life? I was overweight and I dropped lot of weight to now reach the "normal" bodyweight zone for my weight. But I feel like my T is still too low. What do y'all think? Should i wait until 21 to see if something changes or should I just go ahead and get on TRT? The first doctor that I spoke to two years ago (thats when i got the blood test done) said that this level was normal. However, 2 years later I realize she may have been wrong and I am looking to get a second opinion. However, I still wanted to hear from you guys.

Thanks

255 is low for someone your age.

How do you feel? How's your energy, appetite, and sex drive?

You have a few options, such as TRT (for life) or HCG monotherapy (short term).

Would TRT at that age (for life) really be the most responsible advice? I don't know. I'm curious as to know. However, there has to be another option out there. I could be wrong though.

Eat like horse and train hard then check your levels. If it is still low, I would go on TRT. Because high testosterone like 1100-1200 make feel awesome. Why are you scared to inject a needle into your delts with insulin needle? Remember there is testosterone undecanoate so you dont need hit twice a week. TRT is easy i think.

Keep working with Dr's for a while,
A natty option would be so much better than a life dependant on TRT.

Are you still on your parents insurance?

I am not on any insurance plan right now. Also I don't think eating like a horse would help me. Right now I'm trying to lose weight and get rid of the chubbiness so eating lots of food and potentially putting on weight is not going to coincide with my goals...besides if my natural test level is at 255...how much would "bulking" really help? I still eat a good amount of protein daily, and take vitamin D and B12 daily...moderate carbs and moderate fats. Also what other "natty" ways are there? I am not afraid of taking needles but I heard taking TRT might make me infertile...also just curious if I do have a kid, is there a chance my kid could have low TEST too?

By eating like a horse he means eating protein rich food. if you're trying to lose weight you can still accomplish this by eating clean.

if there is a labcorp in the area id start with the hormone panel for females through privatemdlabs - subscribe to their newsletter to get a coupon code, if its legal in your state. its cheap and will give people a snapshot of whats going on with your HTPA and some more senior people here can better suggest a direction. there might be some options for you.

And different labs have different ranges for normal, Quest would say your number is within the reference range.

Lift heavy, and eat a protein rich diet. Do your own blood work to track progress.

No, first off your 19 years old and have no bizz with it.

I would make every attempt to find the cause of that before committing to TRT. You've got insurance, I would use that and find a good endo to get to the bottom of it.

I suspect my low t was caused by severe sleep apnea that was misdiagnosed as PTSD and treated with benzo's for a few years. I'm pretty sure if I would have corrected the root cause initially I would not be on TRT right now. I've heard of others having thyroid related issues that they were able to correct through medication. There are tumors and other things I think that can mess up the works as well.

At least a few years down the road you would have the piece of mind from knowing there wasn't some other simple fix you could have gone with.

find the cause first if possible. check ur balls, adrenals, thyroid, and pit.

if u want to tho, i see no real issue with it, so long as u are aware that it could mean injecting yourself 1-2 times per week for the rest of your life.

You need to consult with a Dr. 19 is too young to start TRT. TRT is a lifetime commitment and has consequences that you may regret at your age. Work with the doc to find the root cause of what is wrong. TRT has been good for me at 42, but it is not a solution you should enter into blindly.

Could be idiopathic hypogonadism. Some patients have done a 3 month - 6 month course of TRT and then came off, and testosterone levels normalized.
