Anyone else unemployed due to lay off?

I dont know if its just me but it is tough finding a job right now. lol So i was laid off about 6 months ago, was working a factory job for about 3 years. Every job interview i go on they say, "so what have you been doin since?" WTF you think ive been doin? lol It really sucks, with a national unemployment rate of near 10%, its such an employers world.
 
dude i worked for 12yrs straight with the same company and got laid off about a yr ago.. it sucks but you gotta do what you gotta do to get buy... im a weldor for the iron workers union and 75% of our local is out..
 
Yea i know, were all in the same boat. Thank god Obama is taking care of us with all the unemployment extensions. I dont really see much pickin up from a year ago.

this is a good post, 12 yrs and just got laid off ? same here 5 yrs just got laid off, word in the street is that, there is no money floating around, restaurants r closing down,and its depressing here at home in this four walls,u got to keep u r mind buissy all day,a good way to keep ur self and mind healthy is exercise plenty, fix u r car ,stay in touch with family , and blog here in ology..
 
Yup i try to stay busy, at the gym, here on ology, Id fix my car but its too cold out and i dont have a garage lol. I have all the time to train and eat good but my budget isnt allowing me to get a good cycle together.
 
the money situation isnt to bad.. i get unemployment and 50$ from obama and my local gives an underemployment fund of 200$p/w.. so its not baD... now keep my sanity is another story.. im a hands on kinda guy so not used to staying home.. i think ive cleaned my garage probably 500times since ive been home..lol

Yea i cant really complain about the money either, all my bills are paid. I get the bi-weekly $50 stimulus too. I was doing some side work for cash but im about done with that.
 
I got it!, join the army lol, I went to a branch the other day to renlist, I felt pround to do this again serve my country,and the recruiter sat me down, I did not say anything, he was motivated would not stop talking, and told me all the100 jobs they have for my son or daughter lol ,Im to old 37 yrs he said laughing,wtf was I thinking? id probley be the first guy to die,to slow for the younger dudes,lol..
 
Thank god for baby gurl,she makes good money...finding a job is hard right now so ive decided to go back to school to get certified for personal trainer/fitness coach ACSM.I got nothing else to do but eat good and work out which I enjoy lol.
so in the mean time Im on here and at the gym:smash:tryin to keep my sanity

I actually went back to school, local community college, and i have the personal trainer home study kit from ACE, havent been studying it much though.

Hey man your patriotism shows and thats all that counts. Im sure you could keep up with most of them young bloods.lol
 
thanks bro, but the army goes by a scale of age and bf %, they see me as a suicide mission lol, I know I can keep up with the young hero's , to the army im just a waste off tax payer money lol,..u may think its that easy to join, most of the time it is ,but the older u get the more they want to put u out of the game..I like ur avi bro very patriotic '' location :land of the free and the home of the brave '' god bless america, amen.
