I would love to know what the root cause is behind acne due to hormonal changes. Obviously oil production of the sebaceous glands is whats changing but there has to be a way to moderate these changes and the resulting acne, other than accutane.
I never had a single problem with acne until I started TRT. Within the first few months my skin started to change. And eventually got to the point where I had a problem. I tried antibiotics, even though I hate taking them, topicals, and all kinds of skin clearing protocols, but nothing worked.
I finally resorted to accutane and after months I am finally cleared up, luckily got in front of it before too much scarring occurred but it was getting bad for a while. Unfortunately, theres a reason people try to steer others away from accutane. It is incredibly harsh. Some people have fewer sides than others. I am not one of the lucky ones. If you are depressive or anxious to begin with, get ready to feel even worse. If you struggle with fatigue, get ready to feel even worse. If you already don't enjoy life, get ready to hate life. I have the worst fatigue ive ever experienced, hate going to the gym, and when I get in the gym I am exhausted and pretty much incapable of doing anything close to the level to what I would consider normal. The mental sides are what really kills me. Its killing my cognitive function and has really put my mental fortitude to the test. With that said, the shit works.
Personally, id start my getting an anti bacterial soap and a scrubber and showering immediately after workouts or when you sweat. Do not go to bed without showering. Try to get some sun, my gf is a RN and she agues with me constantly that tanning is not effective method to control acne and only delays the issue by drying out the skin temporarily, but I personally think it helps quite a bit. I don't tan, but I try to get some sun when I can and just that little bit makes a difference. There is also a product called Hibicleanse which I would consider picking up. My derm recommended it to me. Haven't really put it to the test as my accutane has done the heavy lifting for me but I think it'd be a good product to try.
Also, get bloodwork done if you havent already. It sounds like you have something out of balance as you are experiencing issues post cycle only. Like GJ said above, a lot of guys experience acne sides when their e2 is too high.
Since you are open to any suggestions you could also try supplementing with is a product called AcnuTrol(Link Below). This is put out by Charles Poliquin's online shop who i personally think is an extremely smart man with a lot of experience in the fitness world. I don't think he would put out a product that didn't at least have a basis in science. However, there is generally never a magic supplement so you might try adding this in with other methods of controlling your acne. I personally have not tried it though so I cant vouch for efficacy personally.
