Anyone know a reputable doctor in the Uk that is well informed on hrt for men?

I'm really beginning to lose hope now because Ive had to leave my former doctor who was treating me.

One because he said he doesn't believe in HCG, two because he doesn't believe checking for estrogen is important and 3 because doesn't think t converts into estrogen.

I just can't find any doctor in the uk who is knowledgeable enough to go with and do Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) safetly which is sad, because I responded well to injection but I'm not just going on t on it's own again.

If push comes to shove I could probably get Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) myself somewhere and likewise do a seperate saliva hormone test myself to get a clued up reading on estrogen and cortisol and free testosterone. But that is going to take a lot of expensives and self medicating

I was told by a doc you can't get tests on estrodiol on the NHS which is really shitty.

I would like to know if I travelled to the states, could I get dialled in with chip?

Sorry bout your luck buddy.. A doctor that doesn't think testosterone converts to estrogen , hmmm.... Damn, they never cease to amaze me

Hey mate Im from the Uk also,

Like you I have struggled with doctors and argued my case over and over to just get put on transdermals and also to get the adequate tests.

I was also told like you that T does not convert to E ....

Whats I did was take all the info I had on the matter with all parts of importance highlighted, which was enough to make a whole book on the subject and my doc finally agreed to check e2 oestradiol ( they can check this on the NHS - Google NHS Hormone blood tests).

In my case my e2 reading at present dont require much attention its on the lower end of the scale but then again im only taking Testogel or Testim at present.

It is a battle and a half over here it really is just to get help, and its damn sexist too if it was a woman and menopause no doubt they would fix it with light speed and no arguements.

Hi Vigilante thanks for the heads up,

Recently I found that I did get checked up on oestradiol which came back very high, 156 pmol/l to be exact. However I wasn't offered an Aromatase inhibitor (AI). Their idea is that test injections alone will lower it but I'm not going to do that.

Still I need to check for cortisol, dhea, dht shbg, free bioavailable t(which I was told they don't do here in the uk but they do) and progesterone to make sure they're not out of balance also. Getting those tests done is going to be another story. If I go private it will cost an arm and a leg. But going to family doctor tomorrow to see if I can get a referral to see an endo who will agree to do those tests.

Where abouts in the uk are you out of interest?

Its damn hard to get blood tests I even find where I am. I considered a private endo but thats an arm and a leg too just for an app let alone tests/treatment.

Initially I was gonna force my family dr into sending me to an endo but instead he said he would try treatment - that being the gels, so im stuck on my next move with a level of 18.2 nmol but e2 of 88 pmol.

The other tests you mention I would like really to give me the full picture but god knows if ill ever get that chance it was like 6 apps and 3 months before I convinced him to try e2 lol

Keep in touch though it would be good to compare notes maybe, see what we can force outta the nhs here.

my next step personally is forcing my way onto testosterone enanthate already had the convo a few times regarding it but my answer at present is hes worried about sending my test too high....!

I'm in london buddy.

Regarding the blood tests I did find a site that does all the tests for hormones but when I emailed I didn't get a response.

It's a pain in the arse waiting and waiting and searching and searching. It's been made worse with all the cuts and budgets the nhs has to work on now so they're even more reluctant to carry out these sort of checks.

I'm speaking with my gp tomorrow morning and going to lay out everything I need as it's come back conclusive that I'm high in e2.

If he's going to fuck around and put me on some waiting list to be referred, I'm just going to order some aromasin 25mg to lower it myself because at the bottom I feel like shit.

Your problem seems to be mainly low t. If you were in london you could go on nebido injections as the clinic I went to had no problems treating me with that just didn't want to give me any sides.

Hopefully the Aromatase inhibitor (AI) will do the trick and won't have to go back on any testosterone.
