Anyone tried the paleo diet for leaning out?

I am thinking of doing the paleo diet to lean out a little. I'm 32 5'10 and 175 with 16% body fat. I would like to get to about 10-12 body fat and put on a few lean pounds of muscle. There are a few people at the gym doing paleo with great results loosing weight but I don't think I see them putting much muscle on. Anyone tried this diet before? Any opinions or info would be helpful. Thanks for reading
 
I have a lot of success with a modified Paleo diet. When you are trying to cut body fat it is important that you maintain your existing muscle mass. That is why it is very Important to eat a lot of lean protein and good carbs and fat. I will give you an example of my diet on a typical workout day.

Pre Workout: Green Tea or Black Coffee

Workout: 8:00 am then post workout Shake

Meal 1: 10-12 oz Chicken Breast with good fat (olive oil or a few slices avocado) and one serving of fruit (no grapes and no bananas)

Meal 2: 10 - 12 Lean Beef with full plate of vegetables. It is ok to cook vegetables with olive oil or even real butter.

Meal 3: Same as Meal 2 but I add one cup of carbs (white rice, yams, red potatoes)

I only drink protein shakes when I cant eat real protein or on the go.

I promise this diet will work for you. Eat lots of lean protein and mix it up so you don't get bored (bison, fish, pork, alligator, veal, chicken etc) Make your vegetables taste good with olive oil and good fats. Eat no breads, pastas, etc. Stay away from dairy. Spend your money on good meat.
You will lose weight and always be full.
 
On week 7 of 8 carb cycling diet w 3j. Went from 15% to 12% bf and looks feel great. Hope to be at 10 by month end. Not saying if.diet won't work, but I'm experiencing one that works optimal for me. It's fine tuned for my body. 3j and I communicate twice weekly, at least, and I save money on groceries compared to trying diets I've pieced together over the years. Well worth looking into. A little more food than above post and a little more meal times...no cardio, for now, dither. Haven't lost ANY muscle and definiely gaining strength.. workouts 3j assigned take less time than what I was doing too. Good luck!

yea its not a bad idea at all... i personal prefer carb cycling over paleo but the food choices in paleo are great
