Are AAS really as dangerous as they say?

I didn't see any proof that moderate doses are harmful... I'm talking about 1-2 bulking cycles of small doses of injectable stuff a year, no truckloads. Do you know of any statistics or studies that show it's actually harmful? Like stats on female athletes who used steroids long term, etc. I didn't see any article or research that actually proves that injectable roids in moderation are harmful at all.
I figured if they really were that dangerous athletes wouldn't use them probably.

Go to google scholar. You will see plenty of studies on AAS there.

AAS is harmful when abused.

There are very few cases where it is harmful when taken in small to moderate amounts.

However side effects are extremely common....even in moderate doses. And if you consider side effects harmful you may consider AAS use harmful.

Use any search engine and type in steroid side effects/ health related problems.

All the athletes that I know will do anything to achieve greatness. I guess it all depends on how competitive you are.

Please tell me you havent done cycles without doing research....

I've done research but all I see is very limited info and absolutely no proof they're harmful in small doses. Sure, if you inject a truckload into a rat... it'll pretty much die (huge doses are always used in those studies). I didn't see anything showing it to be harmful in moderate doses... No, I don't consider side effects to be harmful effects (lowering of the voice, etc), but I was talking about getting illnesses; anything you need to get medical treatment for. And not talking about pills that can hit the liver, but injectables. Did you see any studies showing higher mortality among female athletes, for example? I didn't see any. Birth control pills probably cause more diseases than steroids, unless they're abused.

Just like many drugs, if used wisely they are very effective, and safe for most people. Side effects vary by dosage, by drug, and from person to person. Please post your proposed cycle for advice before you buy anything.

First, it will be hard to find studies on steroids, as they are illegal in many countries. But if you ever get bloodwork done while on cycle you can see where problems can arise.

Second, most athletes are not going to admit use of steroids because it is against the rules of every sport.

Seems like you are trying to convince yourself that they are not dangerous.

I want to know if they're dangerous in moderation or not, just want to know the facts. I do understand this stuff is dangerous in large doses, but so is salt and red wine.

Mortality study on older athletes would be interesting (most use roids whether they admit or not)... Since moderate doses of AAS are prescribed to hiv patients to prevent muscle wasting, there should be a few animal studies out there too.

No, not in my personal circumstance, I am a long-term user and I have never had one negative health consequence.

WTF......you started a thread stating your clitoris is now 2" long.

That would be negative to 99% of the women out there.

Negative 'Health' consequence is associated with liver, kidney, high cholestrol, HBP these are life threatening, frankly I do not think a 2 inch clit is going to cause me any life threatening consequences, therefore it is not a 'health' consequence.

Yes but on this board we are casual and most people think of "health" consequences as basic side effects, and not necessarily "life threatening".

And not all health consequences are "threatening". Acne is considered by doctors/medical professionals to be a "health" consequence, but is not life threatening to most.
