Start:
Total T - 387
Estradiol - 26.07
DHEA -So4 - 164

10/21/13
250mg T-cyp injectable weekely
High quality vitamin/minerals with Saw Palmento
25mg DHEA daily
Resveratrol Daily

10/31/13
Total T - 2685

11/3/13
Sides noted - Ankle Swelling
Called doctor - He suggested that it could be because of recent traveling and hot weather (currently live in Latin America)
I was concerned that my E2 was elevated beyond the normal range
I kept the same weekly dosage but divided it into a half dose every 3.5 days.
Generally feeling good

11/17/13
Ankle swelling lessened. Occasionally flared.
Arm and leg acne appeared.
Still concerned that E2 levels were raised (doctor and labs is 3 hours away)

11/23/13
Intentionally skipped dose because T was high anyway, and wanted less conversion to E2
Generally feeling crappy

11/27/13
Resumed dosage but now only take 125mg per week (about 60mg twice a week)

12/4/13
Made it into the Doctor's office
Total T - 2606
E2 - 135.5
Was given Arimidex 1mg pills. Questioned the size of the pill, as most here seem to take .25 to .5 mg every 3.5 days. He recommended 1 mg twice a week. Apparently that is all that is available.
He recommended that I take 125mg of T-cyp per week. I made that decision the week prior, so I will continue with that dosage.
Swelling is gone and acne is down about 30%. I attribute this to increased intake of B-5 and less T per week.

12/5/13
Took 1mg of Arimidex to block the E2. Will take 1 pill every 3.5 days. Doing this for two weeks. I am going to check out a lab that is 30 minutes away to see if they can check T and E2 levels there.

12/6
Feeling tired. I either did something to my back unaware (was not from the gym) or the Arimidex is making old injuries of my back flare up.

12/8/13
Feeling better. Not as tired. Not feeling as good as when started the T therapy. Expect that this is because of the high dosage of Arimidex and it is blocking nearly all of my E2, which I understand is not good either.

My goal is to get my T levels at the upper end of the range, or a little more, and for my E2 levels to be in range without Arimidex.

I would like to run labs in two weeks to see where everything is at. I will at least be running labs again the first week of January.

We will continue to adjust from there

QUESTIONS:

1) Is there anything you would be doing different and why?

2) The Arimidex pills appear to be gel caps. Can I open up these caps, remove 50% - 75% of the Arimidex, and enclose .25 to .50 into a new gel cap and take it? ...to lower the dosage? Does it even need to be in a gel cap? ...can I take it with a spoonful of food outside of the gel cap? Thoughts? I am thinking 1mg is just way to high...unless I am wrong.

Thanks for any feedback!

I just skipped to your questions. Too much to read above...

Don't take 1mg of adex in a single dose. That is too much. Many guys on TRT take .25mg to .50mg twice per week.

Can you get it in tablet form that you can then divide? That's what I do.

I can only get what I have.

I have no problem dividing a gel cap. I just did not know if that was safe or if there was any possible consequences to that...

Get a pill cutter and cut the 1mg tab into 4 even slices. Problem solved!
Been doing this for years!!!!

That would work if it was a hard/compressed pill....but it is a gel gap...can I take what is inside of the 1mg gel cap, divide the medication into 25mgs and insert the 25mg into a new gel cap?

Common sense would tell me that this should be no problem...BUT...I wanted to consult others before I do this.

You got a lot of writing and info there. Your T.T. is 387 ng/dl on or off the stuff ?
You have to excuse me, I'm not too familiar with you or your protocol, so we need to get this in order.
Can't you buy generic ADEX at your pharmacy that comes in 1 mg pill form ?

yes, you can pour out the 1mg insides and quarter it...then, simply pour it in something...probably best to just buy some gel caps to put it into. But, you don't need to take it in gel caps.

I've never heard of them coming in gelcaps....but it is still medicine. your body will absorb it whether it's in a gel cap or not...unless it's time released medicine, which I doubt it.

I would think only a compounding pharmacy would put them in gelcaps, in which case they should be able to supply any requested dose. I have adex in gelcaps .5mg and .25mg.

387 was my base T before TRT...I am still trying to get my T dialed in...while doing that my E2 spiked...which promoted my Dr. to give me ADEX.

In my rural area, in the country I live in (CR), no pharmacy carries the stuff. My Dr. says he can only get what he gave me. Most pharmacies in CR are rather lax about not needing scripts for many things. But, I have not found a pharmacy that carries ADEX yet...I have stopped at a few. I would have the best luck in the capital, but I live a few hours away.

More info than you needed...

Short answer, gel caps is it for now till I discover another solution.

Great! Good to know...didn't want to cause some sort of crazy situation in which I absorb it too quickly...I wouldn't think it was time released either, but that was sort of my concern.

Yeah, but my Dr. is not revealing which pharmacy he gets the ADEX from, likely because he resells it at a higher cost...I am not sure what it costs in the states, but he charged $150 for 30 1mg pills...that might be an ok price, but seems like I should be able to find that cheaper, if I could find a pharmacy that carries it...

Problem is that I suspect that it is only the for profit hospital pharmacies that carry it here, and they require scripts at their shops so that you have to see their docs....

You know, one of the board sponsors make a liquid form of arimidex for research purposes only. Its called liquidex and I have used it many times in my studies. It can be dosed as large or as small as you want, you dont have to worry about halving or quartering gel caps. As far as quality is concerned, my lab rats cannot tell the difference between pharma grade arimidex and the board sponsor's liquid form.

How old are you ?
387 ng/dl is not really Low. Now you're Total T is 2600+ for TRT levels ?

387 was enough to make me feel like I was 80...I am 35

I am not dialed in yet. We just halved the dose so that I will not be at 2600 any longer.

WHOA. 2600ng/dL on TRT??! You're essentially running a steroid cycle my man, and you have no need to worry about cutting that pill into quarters as .25mg isn't going to cut it. Just take .5mg/wk and call it good. I'm very surprised that your doc doesn't mind you being in the supraphysiological range.

Most men are "allowed" to go from 500-1100ng/dL through a physician. Personal feelings of jealousy aside, I do think you should cut down that test dose a bit, so you fit into a more realistic range of hormone. I'd also look around at the pharmacies to see what they charge for arimidex. It's very possible that this doctor is just taking in cash paying clients to make some extra money for himself. I don't even want to ask what you're paying for the testosterone...

My .02c :)

2600ng/dl levels of testosterone are not sustainable long term. Your talking major complications with levels that high. You need to correct this at once

Already ahead of ya....250 mg a week generated labs of Total T at 2600. Currently at 120 mg of T-cyp :)

I am getting labs done again the first week of January. I expect results between 1,000 and 1300. I also hope E2 has been mitigated so that an AI is no longer necessary.

As for an update with the arimidex...it was no problem to take the gel caps, break them open, split the dose, and place them into new gel caps. Annoying yes... but it works...
