Does anyone know of some good
arm wreatling training techniques?

I have a big arm wreatlying match against
some guy who is taller than me and has about
30lbs on me as well.

I can beat him left-handed but righted-handed
is a no go!
 
if i was to guess, id say do one-handed preacher curls but position your elbow inward and have your hand outward.

understand? i tried to explain it as best as i could.
 
deadlift! its all in the forearms... and do some static holds as well :) just walk around the gym holding dumbells in ur hands :)
 
Forearm work helps, but the fort delts are very important if you know how to arm wrestle ;)
 
IMO its 90% forearms, anyone whose armed wrestled before knows they get a sick forearm pump and forearms are also usually the first to go. And if its a good match they might be sore the next day. As woot said staic holds. Also Iv been wanting to try this for forearms but never got to it. Try setting up a small bench on wheels next to a pulley machine. Latch on those one arm handles to the bottom pulley. take a hold of it and practice mimicking the movement of putting someone down in arm wrestling. Just a crazy idea I had one day
 
id say its 60% technique
make sure you have some kind of leverage either try to stand above your arm and lean into the motion or dip down and pull away with the motion. try holding the edge of the table and pull.
DEFENSE is mostly biceps with a little forearm and lat
OFFENSE is more shoulders and forearm
Get hyped up before your match
Instantly curl your forearm toward you as soon as the match starts then pull in toward your body not to the side.

carefull whenever i armwrestle a bigger dude i always end up with a sore elbow @ the gym

is it really worth it just to show off?
 
try to imagine a peice of steel locking your hand inline with your shoulder, and think of your upper body as a pendulum. wether your technique is a hook or a roll over just remeber to keep the hand inline with the shoulder. Once the pull starts just think of bringing your shoulder to the table. sorry thats the best i can explain it. A friend of mine placed 2 in the workd open calss in japan. I helped him train now and then. wasn't that good going into it but after just learning technique it has improved my arm wrestling skill significantly
 
While in the Marines I had a buddy who didn't look like much, but was an arm wrestling champ.

He always said it was about technique. Muscle is a small part of it. He would say the best way to win is explode with all your power as fast as you can when you hear go. Then he'd say try to punch yourself in the chin. Instead of aiming to force the other guys hand to the table make the goal to bring your palm to your chin as if punching yourself.....I've seen this 190lbs man beat 250lbs ripped guys with no problem, so I have to believe he's on to something.
 
To work the arm wrestling techineque, set up any table like setup by the cable machine and arrange the cable to about hip height to work on the rotator cuff.......it will seem like workin the rotator cuff, but itll work out the entire schematics of it all! Pretend ur armwrestling against somewon and do reps of it....

Thats what i did to win against one guy that i beat and he had bout 70 lbs on me....
 
I have been a baseball pitcher for 13 years so my forearm is pretty strong, I can usually beat people twice as big as me. It is a combination of grip, wrist strength, forearm, and opposite side pecs.
