Arnold training clips

All of that is from Pumping Iron.

Still, that shit gave me a hard-on (NO HOMO).

I will say though, that by todays standards, Arnold was lifting pretty light, at least what was shown in those clips. I toss around the same or more weight. And compared to the brutes of today, he'd get burried.

They trained much higher volume back then, and did it for HOURS a day. Today they would classify that as over training.

I'd hate (LOVE) to see a prime Arnie running the circuits today with the advances in gear, training and nutrition.

Yea he is training with relatively light weight..they show a quick scene that says the Mr. Olympia contest is only 100 days away so my thinking is he is in his cutting phase of training.
I still think he has a better physic than modern BB standards at elite level.(NO HOMO)
And G-Pickle,your right bro Arnie is a beast.

Oh no doubt on his shape. The conditioning of todays pros is INSANE! But their asthetics, lines and symetry are all fucked up in comparison.

A lot of people hate on Lee Haney and say his physique is wack, but he was "new" breed at the tail end of the Arnie era. Legs were smaller, but so were waist lines.

They really need to make another competitive catagory for pros. Where you compete, then theres EXTREME competition or something cause the bar keeps getting pushed up for mass, and down for almost every thing else.

Soon the guys are gonna be so damn massive they wont be able to walk out on stage. Theyll have to be carted out like prize steers while some dude with a country accent talks all fast in the back ground during the "competition".

A couple of his books are good reads. Some of his training methods were insane in terms of intensity. Off the top of my head I recall a full day of squatting ... yes, eight hours of squats.

Like I said, overtraining by todays standards.

Could you imagine???

Walk up to the squat rack.

Punch a clock.

Start repping....

Punch a clock 8 hours later. Time to wheelchair home!! LOL

Again it's off the top of my head, but I believe he did it outdoors and it added a permanent quarter inch to his quads. Have to see if I can dig that out. Regardless, back when I started working out in 1992 Arnold was a HUGE influence on me.
