back training question

Ive been traning for a year and a half naturally for the most part but my back development is over powering my upper body because my shoulders are narrow and my shoulders and arms cannot grow at even half the pace that my back does and because of this im not happy with the way im looking. Should I train it every other weak very lightly enough to get a burn but not so that it bulks up?

actually a very good & common question. Larger muscle groups such as the back and legs (to be vague) experience hypertrophy at a faster rate than smaller muscle groups.

It is hard to say that the problem is without knowing your diet and training. Even then, it could be genetics bro.

For instance, I competed in powerlifting on the collegiate level at a D1 university (guess by my username). My chest was NEVER what is should have been relative to my back and legs. Everything was tried, extra rest and training at higher intensity.

My coach and I chalked it up to genetics [our team finished 1st nationally last year and 2nd nationally for many years behind LaTech (he must have known what he was doing)].
