barbell rows or dumbell rows

what does everyone prefer to use......DB rows or Barbell rows....i usually switch between the 2 every back workout

I switch between db rows, barbell rows and T-bar rows. For the T-bar I throw the bar in the corner of the gym, rack on the weights, and then grab the close grip handle most use on the low row cable machine. Wrap it around it and go to work.

On the days I do dl's I tend NOT to do barbell rows. Mainly because my lower back is already so fried it's tough to hold that bent over motion. Plus with T-bar rows your center of gravity is farther back putting less pressure on your lower back.

i do them both.
i do dumbell rows lying on an incline bench, at a very low incline

I love bent over barbell rows. That has made my back get a lot bigger and I give it a good squeeze at the top of the lift that makes my traps even feel it. I don't really know the proper technique for deadlifts so I have yet to do them but am dying to. I don't have a lifting partner and don't really talk to people in the gym. I tend to not get as good a workout when I use the t-bar, but it still works for sure. I have too much pressure on my stomach b/c I am tall.

In my gym there´s an excellent rowing machine with vertical handles of shoulder width grip, that´s my favourite, I really feel my whole back´s contracting like hell on that.

I prefer barbell rows instead of dumbbell rows, because dumbbell rows give me little more than pain/strain in the shoulder girdle. I also feel my back is contracting better with BB´s than with DB´s, maybe because it feels more strict with BB´s. Besides, with DB´s you have to spend more time, since you work each side separately, and I want to keep my workouts as short as possible, to minimize the cortisol effects.

But of course, we are all different...

bent over barbell, and closed grip T bar. I fucking hate dumbell rows. I do beleive they are very effective I just don't like them. But i do do them once in a while, i will throw in a couple sets at the end of my workout.
