Beginner guide to blood work?

This board is a wealth of information, especially for someone researching their first cycle. But, I haven't seen much to really educate someone on how to read bloodwork, when, and why it's useful to improve a cycle. I have found privatemdlabs, which is a fairly cheap resource to get work done, but at what points in a typical test only cycle should it be done? What should someone be looking for in the results? It seems obvious to have it done before a cycle and after post cycle therapy (pct), but when during cycle, and why? How often do you get tested on each cycle? Just some simple rundown of how to approach bloodwork would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you OP for making this, I need to get blood work soon as well and I was wondering what to look for. I would appreciate also if someone suggested how they go about getting lab work since it's suspicious for doctors if you ask for Test levels. I have seen a ton of information when I search, but sometimes its so much info it gets confusing.

Get bloods done halfway through your cycle to check yourself...see where e2 & test leveles are, also.

Well see.. If you just tell your doctor whats up, it's his responsibility to check, and explain!

I think he ( like myself) is wanting to know what tests should be taken, when, and what a normal range would be.
Test, lipids, what else?

Female hormone panel halfway through to check your test, estradiol, and liver levels. Male hormone panel before and after to see where your test levels are

Why not just use female hormone panel for before and after to check your test and est?

Not always, I told my doctor I'm on roids, he won't do bloodwork because "It won't make a difference." Maybe it's because I'm 21, I don't know.

I don't know where you are but, a doctor cannot refuse to do blood work. Once you request they must perform. It's their job too.. There are laws they have to follow. Go find another doctor because obviously your doc is a tool and doesn't know jack shit!
Sports doctor is your best bet but, thats hard to find, specially in my area.

You select the female hormone panel and on the proper screen, select that you're male. It's cheaper than selecting male hormone panel. You can also use Google to find some 10-15% discount codes. Although I understand which test to take, I'm not sure how to read the results or what numbers would be a concern.

Ok I found a lab from this site close to my house, but what labs do I get? Testosterone? There arent any named Male panel on the options, would appreciate info.

Click female panel, and say youre a male of course. This will check your test, estradiol, liver, and a few other things. Youll get your results back in a few days. Just post the results and we will help you

Thank you, I ended up googling some more for a few hours yesterday and today and found that info. I will post my results soon.
