I have a very hard time trying to understand why so many guys want to build some muscle get bigger and look awesome but they want to keep a waist of a girl. OK let me expalin myself. Not saying being a 30' size is bad but I prefer look bigger than Ripped. I know this days magazines selling the Skinny ripped look guy but in this life style IMO size matters.

I do prefer being little bulky than skinny of course cause thats how I train and eat. Not talking about 18%+ BF% is about being skinny and look like a concentration camp dude. Listen bros at any gym there are the guys who are lighter and skinner than you but trying to lift so heavy that they look stupid, thats what Im talking about.

I want to hear from you guys here what are your thoughs?? Skinny ripped or bulky muscle look??

Please don`t get out of topic about diet and those kind of stuff, is what do you prefer and why???

Def more muscle than being ripped for me. Actually, more mujscle while being ripped! But anyway, for me it's more appealing to have the big back, big legs, etc. than being cut and small. Fuck that Jersey Shore shit!

Funny, I thought about this the other day, except on the other side of the coin...so many dudes at my gym look like they eat fast food twice a day while juicing. Just not a good look in my opinion.

Since when is a 30" waist considered girly?

Being a girlie I have a different view. Yeah, I like some muscle on a guy, but not a huge amount either. For me there is a balance. Obviously you train for yourself - right? Why bash someone else for being smaller than you or wanting to be that way? To each his own. Most girls don't like big bulky muscles, but as long as you're training for yourself you shouldn't care what others think.. And that also goes for how others look. Why judge them for what they want to achieve? There are plenty of sports that require muscle strength and coordination and lower bodyfat because higher body fat weighs and slows you down (as well as being bulky does that, too)

All I'm saying is don't judge everyone by your standards because there isn't a standard when it's personal. Equally lots of girls try to get real thin, but not many men like a stick.. So who they doing it for? Other girls, like men like going to watch bodybuilding shows to see huge pecs, delts and shoulders, backs and legs. I'm not knocking it, I've competed myself, but it is a strange concept that it's for the approval of the same sex...

I think it's considered girly when you have a 35 inch waist! Now I could be wrong and they may exaggerate, but I'm pretty sure I've read on more than one occasion that Jay Cutler competes with a waist size of around 28 - 30". The sport of bodybuilding is about keeping your waist as small as humanly possible so that everything stands out and looks even bigger..

its all about proportions, but i like the bulky muscle look

do some deadlifts, squats and build a solid back and waist

I have no desire to have a High BF%. I would prefer to maintain a 5-8%bf most of the time and weigh in around 195-210. That body wieght at my height and low body fat looks quite big (Shirt off).
Theres a big difference how you look when youre low body fat with some muscle than being at a body fat in the mid to high teens.
Ive been a big guy at one point in my life. No idea on my BF at the time, but I was 6'0, 250lbs, pants were 32-34.
I never want to be like that again. I enjoy a different look much more.
I still repect the people that put in the work to get that big, but its no longer for me.

Shooting to get ripped first (formerly a semi-fat guy) then gonna put on some bulk. I'm 6'3 and weigh 240, and don't know that I really want to weigh too much more. My opinion is goals change so I guess my answer, right now, is ripped.

it's about semetry and it all depeds on how your body is. For me, i'm 6'4" and have a bigger frame. i'll never be down in the low....6-7% range, i would look anorxic! Sure, some women may not be into the bigger, bulkier look, but some women are not into the ripped, veiny look either. my ideal look for me being taller is about 240-245 with around 12%. my stomach looks tight....no tire around the midle and a wider, moe muscular back and chest with some decent arms. you have to work with what you have.

Many younger guys are obsessed with having a six pack that they under eat and over train. just lift and be happy.

I'm happy being big and bulky. 6'3" 289 lbs right now 12% bf. might try to cut up a little but my girl absolutely loves the way I am now....I mean LOVES it!:-)

nothing wrong with a small waist, you just look a lot bigger, I sport a 31 inch waist and I am pretty big, and I like it that way. Its a matter fo personal preferance

like looking big but lean at the same time, Being previously overweight is what i think effects it, Definitely not jersey shore, but big, and lean,,, i dont care what everyone else says, i look how i want to look. I do what i like

Ok ok Im not judging anyone or any type of look what I was talking or my intention was on what Drakside talked about. Why the obseesion of a 6 pack this days and being son skinny?? Look you can get a good size and get BF% down but maintain the Big look, make sense??? Im not a tall guy at all, Im 5'4" at 180 right now BF% around 10-12 to be honest but arms back traps shoulders and chest look fuller and tight. That is what I considerfor a nono competitor like me being little bulky. A waist at 30" being girly?? hahaha my bad was a joke...I mean with that is look at some adverts out there when this skinny dudes by any means no muscle just low BF% and this is what is sell on magazines and TV.

Was not my intention to judge no one, so it sounds like that my bad, My point is going to the gym and look around bunch on bone dudes like I call it they always trying to call everyones attention cause they ripped and lift heavy. Powerlifter lift heavy but for the most part are big guys. Under eating is one thing that can cause all this new guys on this life style struggling to accomplish great or big gains cause " don`t want to lose my six pack" eat like a mofo get big then cut that Fat off...

keep it come your comments specially girls I like how it goes lol

GOOD POST detour.........to the original op.......you have to ask yourself a question. that question is who do you want to look better for? the guys in your life or the girls. it sounds silly, but is actually a very important question you must ask yourself. me personally, the reason i do this is mainly to be the most attractive i can to my wife (im lucky, she likes big muscle). my wife has however told me before " your getting too big and your head looks tiny" so i dial it back and cut it up. so who are you trying to impress? your women or you and the dudes?
