bench help!

Hey

I trained myself on the smith machine via approx 20 degree and 40 degree angles to get the right feel in my chest. This may seem kinda basic to the majority here but I dont see many training the following way...
Bring the barbell down to the chest at a relatively slow controled speed and rockit back up quickly with all your strength before it touches your chest. Got that out of a Mike Mentzer training man. Lighter than usual weights on the smith machine helped me hit the exact chest spot rep after rep allowing me to gain mind to muscle feel when training.

Just my simple answer to your simple question

regards

I dont understand how people flat bench on a smith, it kills my shoulders. On an angled smith I can incline but never flat, it restricts natural movement of the bar.

If I dont arch at least a little my lower back hurts, I wouldn't call it cheating.

See it doesnt bother me, actually if i arch my back too much i dont feel it in my chest as much. Different bodies react to different forms i suppose.
