i was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem i am having. when i try to do single arm curls at a 10lbs , i can only hit 6 with my left arm.(and even that is very tough). but when i do bb curls i can do 70 for 6+.

but anytime i do bicep excercises i have to use very light weight and can only do minimal reps ( but my biceps are my best "feature"lol). sometimes it even hurts to do bicep training (feels like a pulling where my bicep connects to my forearm). any ideas why this is.

btw i have never really worked my bicep muscles that much on there own, usually got a good enough pump in them from back workouts.

that seems like a large discrepency being able to do BB curls with 70 andonly being able to 10lb DB curls

what sort of form are you using?
 
I would say this is something that you may need someone there to assess. ^^^^I agree that it may be a form issue. 10lbs each hand to 70lbs for BB curls is quite a difference. Shit, it could be something as simple as you not adding up the weight right. :D
 
If I had to hazard a guess I'd say you're a "swinger". That'd be a form issue meaning that when you use the barbell you use your body for momentum to "swing" the weight up rather than actually lift it with the muscle you're trying to work being the biceps.

Just a hunch. ;)
 
I found that my bi's grow more when i only hit a few sets after heavy back work. For me big arms come from big pullin. Try to focus more on your pullin your arms will grow better than goin in and curlin all the time.

i am 19, 5'7 3/4 , 162 lbs , male, and i started working out about 2 years ago, but have just started training again past couple of weeks after being off for about 7/8 months.

also add that i can curl 25/30 lbs minimal reps again. i have always had a problem with reps for biceps though. it seems that it doesn't really matter on the weight, i can't hit reps thought :S

again.. i dont think ive explained myself that well lol. just let me know if there is anything else needed to know?

i wont tell shoe size.. ill get made fun of :( lol .. no aol, dont have social security, and dont have a car.. beat that..

but anyways, i wont say genetics owned me lol, too soon to say that, taking the easy way out. im going to pay attention to form for the next few weeks, blackbeard you could be right. you think (if my form is wrong), that if i start hitting the single arm curls with right for, i would be starting at a low weight, but it will improve in the next couple of weeks?
