Hey ladies.. I know there's been a post in the past about BC but I wanted some specific advice.

What has your experience been with different types of birth control?

I tried the nuvaring for a month and it was the worst couple weeks of my life...

i wanna try the non-hormone BC like an IUD... what do you think?

I'm afraid if I dont do soemthing soon, I'll create more n more mini 3j's NOT GOOD

I hear you Girl, I wouldn't want to create any more mini Mrs P's either, (already have 3 girls)..lol, I really wouldn't mind having more, I love kids, (But I still haven't lost my mind) Don't think I can handle more than 3 at the moment..haha

There are two types of IUD's available one is covered with copper, the other releases the hormone progesterone.

The copper-coated IUD primarily prevents pregnancy by not allowing the sperm to fertilize the egg.

and the IUD coated with progesterone, works in a similar way, but may also thicken the cervical mucus, which prevents sperm from entering the uterus and possibly prevent ovulation.

Since you don't want hormones I would go with the copper IUD..It can stay in for 5 to 10 years.. My sister has always used it, but did get heavier, longer and more painful periods for the first few months after she put it in.

I've never used it, I have always used birth control pills/ or patch , expect when we tried for my 3 pregnancies & all I did was leave the birth control & got pregnant right away each time.. I really have to be carefull... maybe having a mini Mr P Jr is not such a bad idea... (yeah right) lol

Good luck with your search :)

Thanx Mrs. P ... 3J n I resesarched the copper IUD a lot yesterday and were really surprised at all the disadvantages and side effects...considering how sensitive my body is I dont think I can handle either of them.

I already have heavy periods :/

Has anyone ever tried spermicide? lol might be an option!

I am super sensitive to BC and I use a low hormone IUD. I love it. I was on the pill for about 5 years and the shot for longer than that. And I love the IUD. What have you tried so far ?

Everyone reacts different to drugs. But I had heavy periods but with the iud I have I barely bleed at all now. Its awesome.

I would talk with your gynocologist about what is a good option for you.
