Blood After Injection

I had a stream of blood after my injection this morning - it ended quickly but was much more than usual. Typically I see no blood at all. I was sure to aspirate but did not see anything in the syringe so injected.

My question is whether the test came out with the blood or was it simply blood and is it possible I injected too quickly? It was a 23 gauge needle with around 1.25 ml of fluid in it. IM injection in the glute.

Once in a while you'll have a gusher, just from going through a vein. Occasionally you'll have a little test come out as well. When you're injecting be sure to really put pressure on the plunger to get that last bit of test out and give it a good 10-15 seconds to get most of. It out of the needle. It's totally normal.
