Hi, I'm measuring my BF with a Tanita BF562 scale since 3 months and I don't trust it. It alwais display 21/22% no matter what I do. I have lost 5cm (around 2 inches) of belly circunference and the result is alwais the same. The only way I have to display less is to eat a lot (LOL). The value also change by around 1% up and down day by day. I alwais measure the morning when I wake up.
Before using this one I did have another one a lot more expensive (around 900USD), the results where more stable and the percentage was smaller.

Should I trash this stupid scale? Send id back for RMA? Is there something I ignore?
How can I measure my BF in the right way? "Thouching" myself I can't believe I have more than 20% of BF.

thx

tanitas are garbage for measuring bf%, it can fluctuate from hour to hour depending on hydration levels, etc. its alright for measuring weight but for a more accurate bf% fo with calipers and have someone experienced measure it foryou, this will give you a better approximate, not necessarly an exact though.

Thank you for the help, I did a search and I found out there could be a 20% error because of the water. I'm following a keto diet, so that's why when I eat a lot (carbs) the BF goes down. I did order a plicometer.
This value for me is necessary only for my motivation :) It's not a good thing to be in diet for months, loose some weight and read the BF is alwais the same.
