Bottom of the Bottle, Good, or Bad?

Just realized I forgot to fill my T cpy prescription and today is injection day. I have enough left for one dose, but it's literally the bottom of the bottle. So, is whatever that's left in the bottom more concentrated, or less concentrated? Tried to get my script filled, but CVS and Walgreens are both out of stock...AGAIN. Seriously irritates me. Damn, I'm getting edgy, T must be dropping.

Also, started taking Erase today to get my E levels down, would it be a good idea to wait until tomorrow before I inject T, does it matter if an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) and a T injection are done in the same day...say within two hours of each other?

My doc told me to request 1ml amps if possible from my rx.. "over time cyp will degrade once its opened" or so he said/claims. So possible it still works, just might not be full level.

A friend told me today that his pharmacy tells him to pitch his 2000mg vial in the garbage after a month even though he has not used all the Test Cyp as there is too much risk of it being contaminated. They are giving him a new 2000mg vial every month even though he is only prescribed 100mg per week. And his insurance is covering it. Anyone else ever been told this or experienced this?

P.S. I told him to give it to me instead of throwing it in the garbage! :-)

it lasts for a LONG time. contamination is of more concern .

if its made right it should be even without settling (meaning bottom of vial wont be stronger)

They are doing this now because the expiry date goes by what they are allowed to prescribe, not the actual timeframe of when the medication will go bad.

No this last dose is not any more or less concentrated than the rest. The testosterone is dissolved in the oil and will be dispersed evenly throughout the entire solution. If the solution were in suspension (ie. stanozolol) then it would be a possibility that different portions of the solution were of a different concentration provided it were not physically dispersed first. This is why stanozolol has to be shaken thoroughly before being drawn up. This however is not the case with Testosterone (the one possible exception being Test Suspension obviously).

Lol what a waste of Test its shelf life is very long.

Speaking from years of experience as a pharmacy technician (primarily performing IV compounding in a hospital setting) once any multi dose vial is opened, it always had to be trashed after 30 days. This is actually in the manufacturer's instructions that come with the original drug packaging. Even though we had a dedicated clean room that remained at a controlled temperature and maintained under various other strict requirements, we still had to trash it after the 30 days. Although some drugs may have a long shelf life, this is ignored once the vial has been penetrated (unless of course it would have reached it expiration prior to the end of the 30 days, then it would be trashed at that date instead). As others have said, this doesn't necessarily mean the drug is no good anymore, it's for sterility purposes as a safety precaution.

So how many of you are getting a new vial of Test from your pharmacy every month to avoid the risk of contamination?

Well...a 200mg/ml bottle lasts me for a while since I'm only doing .5ml per week lol. Idk about you guys. My insurance won't cover my bottles, so...each time it's $100+ so I try to stretch it out as best I can.

Although testosterone cypionate comes in a 100mg/ml concentration which would mean less time would pass after a new vial has been opened since you would go through the same size vial in half the time, it would make more sense economically to continue doing what you're doing. If you follow proper aseptic technique and pay close attention to maintenance of sterility and avoid any possible cross contamination then you likely will have no problems regardless. Although I did mention in a previous post that in a hospital setting we always tossed a multi-dose vial within 30 days, the pharmaceutical manufacturers of testosterone 200mg/ml obviously intend on their 10ml multi-dose vials to go beyond 30 days after opening since it would take 5 weeks to go through a vial if the user were prescribed a dosage of 400mg/week (I have never actually noticed anyone that has been prescribed such a high dose for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), so obviously they intend on it lasting more than even 5 weeks).
