wats up guys... in years past ive always bulked over the winter and just eat everything i could get my hands on... the problem is im carrying more body fat than i want now, u could say i slacked off this past fall when i came off my sumer cycle but want to bulk still. I dont want to put on anymore fat so i dont have so much work to do in the spring.. anyone ever bulked while loseing fat? all im doin is 500 mgs of test per week and bout to bump it to 750.... im 6'1 240 and prolly got 20 pounds to lose if i want to be at 10%bf.... i know diet is key but im used to eating everything in the winter and then cutting my calories way low to 2000/day in spring... any help would be appriciated

some guys use deca and seem to cut while doing some minimal bulking. You still have to watch your caloric intake though. I think if leaning out is your goal, eat a a very clean diet low in fat, minimal carbs, and high protein.

yea after a long weekend ill notice im holding water.... but after a day or two in the gym it goes away... guess ill just have to experiment and find a right mixture of calories and protein and carbs... im gunna start at 28 or 2900 see wat happens i dont even count now guess its at 3500.. ive only done decca once tho.. stacked it with test didnt notice to much gains on it.. it did seem to make me less sore tho

deca was bunk if you didn't gain. either you gotta bulk or cut, would like to say you can do both... but you cant. if you want to cut, it is diet, cardio, resistance training.

I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding between cutting and muscle gains. I'm just now passing my first year of lifting seriously, and I'm still making tiny gains even at 1800kcal. It's mostly strength (not mass,) but this signifies two things that I know personally, and so do many others: 1.) Any decent cutting strategy should leave you with almost as much lean mass as before 2.) Strength gains, not mass, are actually possible during a cut, due to strength being more related to the central nervous system and the mind/muscle connection and less about the quantity of size of the muscle fibers actually on your body.

My core lifts have gone way up since I started cutting 8+ weeks ago. I'm about 4 weeks out from bulking. While I'm definitely smaller than I was several months ago, I don't think I've lost much muscle at all.

There's also the issue of the fact that muscle size fluctuates quite rapidly depending on water and carb intake :)

What matty said, either you bulk or you cut. You may get away with both if you have no experience in lifting, but that is obviously not the case.

If you are 6'1 and weigh 240 and aren't really jacked, I would say cut first. That way you won't end up being 270+ after a strong bulk.
