Ok so im a little confused on calorie count and cutting or dropping bf. This one book i have read says take your weight and minus 500 cal and you will burn bfat..I have some magazines that say to eat 3000 cal a day with med carb and med fat..

So what is better to do? i wanna get lean but at the same time keep my muscle and gain a little

Another book i recently read says to take your body weight and multiply by 10. Then subtract 10 % from that amount to get the daily caloire intake for fat burning. and do 50% P, 40% C, 10 % F for nutrines.
so if you weigh 200 lbs you should consume: 1800 cal, 225 P, 180 C, 20 F

WHAT do you guys think?

You have to find what works best for you. The general guideline I like....

Lose fat....multiply bodyweight by 12
Maintain...multiply bodyweight by 15
Gain muscle.....multiply bodyweight 18

Many people like to multiply by 10 for losing but I suggest start at 12 and if you aren't losing go down to 11 and then 10. If you can lose weight with more calories than that is better because your muscle wants nutrients.
