calories to lose fat?

huh?
I am about 225 at 15%. I have never really been fussed about monitoring my diet, but have decided to try and get it in check.

I would like to get down around 210 at around 5-8%. what should my daily caloric intake be?

I'm gonna need a little more than that to help ya, hun. Height? Weight? What's your diet look like now?

My diet is average at best. I try to eat clean most of the time (fresh meats/ veg/ and fruits), although to be honest I eat take away a couple of times a week.

Assuming only a moderate amount of activity, your maintenance caloric intake is approximately 3400 cals per day.

Now...here comes the fun. I always say 40p/30f/30c when it comes to diet. Some will disagree. But go to www.fitday.com and plug in your diet for the day and see what you come out with.

Ideally, you want to start off cutting with no more than 500 calories below maintenance. Max would be 1000.
