Calves not Developing....

i would suggest a day sprints to go along with what ever other calf work you do.
kills too birds w/one stone.
really helps with the cutting up you'll want for the contest and works the calves and other parts of legs/obliques that normally dont get hit.
 
calves can withstand heavy ass weights. from daily walks to running. it supports ur weight and all. i wouldn't mind suggesting going 500 and beyond pounds on your calf workouts
 
The guys above pretty much hit it on the head... go way heavier than you are now..you will be suprised at how strong your calf muscles really are...not how strong your brain thinks they are....

Don't be afraid to go really heavy and do lower reps (8-10), the gastrocs have a lot of fast twitch fibers too. Many people get hung up on high reps for calves and hamstrings (I did) when both those muscle groups have a decent amount of fast twitch fibers (ever seen a sprinter's hams?).
I agree.....I started doing several sets super heavy and they swole up. Not to say the above mentioned program wont work....this worked for me.
