Calves!

I read that Arnold used to train calves 6 days a week!!! My calves suck. I was going to start to train them twice a week. is this too much?? I was thinking about doing shrugs twice a week aswell??

Ex workout:

day 1 - legs/shrugs
day 2 - chest/back
day 3 - bi/tri
day 4 - shoulders/claves

calves being my weakest body part, and shrugs because i want BIG traps.
Any thoughts?? :shoot2:
 
My calves are horrible as well.

I think calves need to be trained a little more often cause they are used all the time.

I don't know what to tell ya cause I haven't figured out how to get them to grow either. Damn genetics.
 
I train calves only on leg day (once a week). My calves are not big but had some growing. I work on the 25 rep range.
 
I used to hit them twice per week, but then I only did 8-10sets per time and high reps (oddly the only part on me that responds to reps in the range 20-25). Nowadays I hit them once every week and 16-20sets high rep, 4 different exercises.
 
go very heavy on your calf workouts.

maybe oduble or triple of your bodyweight

mine was suckage but could definitely notice growth from all the squats and raises and stretches I've been doing for the past months.
 
i never do calves and mine are muscular :)
i think calves are on of the most genetic related muscles-youll either have them or you wont obviously drug use would help a lot

yep...i do token calve workouts cuz mine are naturaly big...i wokout with guys 2 times my size and i can do a ton more on legs
