Not interested in putting anymore size on my legs. I just want to keep them the same at roughly 26"s. I have knee issues, plus i hate the strain doing squats puts on my body.

If you're maintaining your size with your current routine, chances are you might not keep what you have with less training. Try leg presses or high reps...

I've had knee issues all my life and have always done squats. Granyed all knee issues are different, mine are bone on bone..no cartilage. I've had to change the amount of weight I use, anything over 275 makes my knees scream for days so I've also had to change the way I squat. I now do very slow reps to parallel, then up halfway, back down then all the way up for 1 rep. Do this for 4 sets of 10 and your legs are fried! Also have you tried bulgarian split squats?

never heard of them i'll youtube it

Leg ext are harder on your knees than squats by far. Continue squatting.... you can add intensity without more weight by doing pause reps and other various rep schemes. Leg presses are good as well but they can't mimic the squat.

I don't go near as heavy S I used too but I still do them every other leg day

I second this.

I have serious knee issues myself. I use leg presses with moderate weight, and I don't lock out on top. I also use leg extensions and leg curls, but I have been battling tendonitis in my right knee.

If you are having problems with your knees you have to be realistic. I'm not doing 500 lbs+ squats or 1500lb leg presses anymore.

If you ignore it, the problem just gets worse.
