Background: problem pinning quads. Always get red and sore. Always goes away but leaves a lump that takes 2 weeks to a month to go away.
Solution: Doctor ordered pins just for me (very uncommon practice. I paid the catalofue price for docs, cheap. Brand name Nippro)
Long thin (don't have them in front of me so I can tell you the exact size but they are slightly longer than previous pins.). Since my quads have all healed up and been pin free for 3 weeks, I decided again to pin them.
Before sleeping, in bed on my side, I started to pin. At a certain point I hit something painful and decided it was painful enough to pull back. I changed to a fresh pin and changed locations on same quad. Managed all the way without hitting whatever it is I hit before.
I stayed on my side. The doctor had said the reason for the lumps was likely the oil not making it into the muscle and/or migrating slighty (bumps and soreness always a few inches from injection site) so I just stayed still and lightly massaged the area (It seems every doc and nurse I ask says this is a must. I know there are some here that say don't or not necessary)
Anyways, 2 days later, whatever I hit is still sore and no redness or bumps on or around injection site.
Any idea what I hit?
