Can't get bottletop filter to work

Okay guys, I don't know what it is, but I can never seem to get a filtration unit to hold ANY pressure at all. I'm using a hand-brake kit I got from Advanced Auto, and I've been at it with multiple filters for about a month. I can never get it to register ANY suction at all. What gives? I don't understand what I'm not doing right, it seemed to be pretty plug and play?

We need some more info here buddy.

-What bottle top filter unit are you using?
-What base are you using (Filtering into)?

Ps. You won't get any pressure if there's no product in your bottle-top filter
PPs. Check to make sure the relief valve on your hand pump isn't locked in the Open position.
