carbs - post workout AND cardio??

if i do cardio after i lift, is this time frame still ok to intake gatorade/protein after both of those..which would be approximately 30-60 minutes after i actually lifted..or does it have to be immediately after you lift and before the cardio or does it matter??
 
i was just speaking in general regarding the time frame of ingesting carbs/protein after workout and if this can wait till after the cardio as well since i usuaully do cardio right after. im cutting fat/dieting however i know that high-glycemic carbs wont turn into fat follwing a workout if protein is taken with it
 
well the high GI carbs cause an insulin spike that will blunt any future fat loss from cardio (Remember, cardio boosts the metabolism for a while after being done)

if your goal is fat loss, id say do without the high GI (But this would be general for ur ENTIRE diet...low to NO carbs)

if you just want to be in shape i dont see a problem of drinking some HIGH GI carbs and protein poswer workout then cardio

but im not expert by any means so ill BUMP this to the top

why?

between workout and cardio if you cutting, dont eat/drink (black coffe is ok)
even afterwords I woudn't take hi-carbs, only a meal after 40-60 mins
 
Here is the deal: yes its best to split your cardio and workouts up - Morning and Night.

However if the time isn't available cardio after your workout will work.

Now if its a short cardio session of say 15 - 20 min, i wouldn't get to worked up over anything.

However if its say 45 min of cardio following a brutal workout - Then take in 10g BCAA's after your workout before you get on the cardio machine. Also if you want 10g of Glutamine would be a nice addition as well. However you would be fine with just the BCAAs
