So what is the best exercise for cardio to cut weight.

treadmill
stationary bike
stairmaster

what type of training works the best, ie interval where you jog for a min then sprint, or just a constant jog for a longer period of time.

I believe that running on the treadmill will burn the most calories per unit of time vs. the others at the same intensity level. You may want to verify that with someone else though. I have read a lot of research suggesting that high intensity exercise is best to reduce fat because of more calories burned during exercise and the hours thereafter from your elevated metabolism.

Carefull!!! High intensity cardio can burn muscle. Low intensity burns fat. Low intensity for a longer period of time is the way to go. Keep what you have built dont waste it on trying to lose weight. Your goal should be to lose fat....not weight.

Low volume, heavy weight training with a good diet will do wonders.

I have busted my ass off to get reasonably strong, I don't want to jepordize it for a toned look. So thanks for your inputs I will give a light jog on the treadmill for a longer time a try and see how that goes these next few weeks.

A light jog may be a bit much, depends on your condition. 3.5mph at a 10% incline is a good place to start. Keep your heart rate at or below 70% max. One way to calc that is 220 - age X .7. For me thats 220-29= 191 X .7 = ~134. As you go over that your body will start using glycogen for energy rather than fat. I think I remember something about cortisol levels going up with higher intensity cardio as well but I'm not sure - may be confusing that with something else.

i've seen what you managed to do in this way - it's awesome.
so i've got a question : i follow pullinbig's routine posted in the sticky topic - do you think adding 15 minutes of cardio after training can accelerate fat loss and not affect muscle gaining?

I didn't do any, but if you want to, I would suggest NOT doing on training days. Do some light walking in the AM on an empty stomach for no more than 30-45 mins.

Its very hard to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time but it can be done if you take it slow and don't over do it.

I walk, that puts my heart rate at ~120. Sad but true. Takes a long time to burn any calories though. A jog puts me over 150 and a run is 180.

It's my opinion that a HR over 130 is to be considered outside the "fat burning" range and into the "cardio" range. Anyone have some studies on this?

I walk at Speed 3.2 at a 10-11deg incline 4 times a week for 30min after Weights and its done great for me .
