I've been working out for many years and have never used it... i know many who have and it seems more and more ppl now are taking it before goin bed. So, I guess my question is... how necessary is it?

its helpful, beneficial, not necessary.

any whole food protein source or meal is going to stay with you for a while.

Or add in some fats to your shake and it will slow absorption as well.

I would rather use an Isolate + Natty PB at night rather than a caesin powder. Isolate just tastes better to me

I'm with Easto on this one. I am just about fed up with cassein at night because it's so freaking difficult to mix. I'm all about isolate from protein factory. Their mix is in my opinion the best around.

I mix my MPI from TP which is 80% casein by swirling the cup around while i pour water into it. Sometimes I have to use a spoon.

Although, I did buy some store brand whey/egg/casein powder from vitamin shoppe or vitamin world or some shit that even my blender couldnt get mixed 100%, so who knows.

I like casein.

I have ON and I don't think it mixes bad either. I mean sometimes there might be a little stuck at the bottom but not enough to bother me.

how much natty pb do you use (how much is needed to slow down abosption? and do you mix the isolate/pb mixture with water or skim milk?

p.s. i have found when i was eatin cottage cheese or tuna before bed, to ensure a anabolic state while i sleep, i always woke up bloated and felt like i was putting on weight.

just eat a friggin steak or have soem cottage cheese or plain old chedda cheese...or chicken or pork or...well i think you get the idea...casien shakes or shakes period arent neccassary before bed..hell eating before IMO isnt even neccassary, as long as your getting your daily calories in. but if i am going to have soemthing before bed i prefer whole solid foods over liquids.

2.56432 tablespoons.

lol, dont obsess about #'s, just have a some.

well there has to be like a consensus...4tbsp's etc because it gives a certain amoutn of fat needed to slow down absorption. I dont see it being a arbitrary number

youre making this too complicated.

im assuming you have a daily caloric goal that you try to meet.

20-30% of that should be allocated to fat. divide that fat intake between however many meals you eat in a day, and thats how much you should eat.
