its a stupid question, but i was thinking about it and i can't really answer it..

if you're not a pwrlifter, why wouldn't you use chains and bands (contrast method) for every excercise?

they simulate the natural strength curve, seems a lot easier on joints, you can do speed work a lot safer with bands..

i guess the obvious answer would be that lifting weights is functional.. but what is functional really anyway...

some ppl say standing on a ball is functional... i disagree...

just thinking..

it doesnt matter if your a powerlifter/olympic lifter/bodybuilder/strongman/etc. training can and will get old if you stay at it long enough . useing " toys " like chains/ bands/squat suits , bench shirts , etc. can spice up training and make it fun again .
if your not pulling down serious money from your lifting/training then its a hobby and if its not fun you need a new hobby .

bands and chains will beat you up faster than straight weight.

however if you looking to strengthen the top portion of any lift bands/chains can and do make a big difference.

bands/chains also give you more options in your training. a set of bands is a nice addition to any gym bag. low cost and easy to transport.
