They dont need to be sterile (technically). And besides 13mm is too small. The gelmans are ok, they only filter around 50ml before clogging though.

I always buy the sterile filters...so I don't need to...they cost a lot less if there not. SO who here dosn't use sterile filters and have they had any probs?
