Coming off Anavar

I've been taking Anavar @ 10mg/d for 3 months.
They are gel caps so I can't really split them very well.

How would I go about coming off it. I know my boyfriend has to take Nolva and HCG and all this other stuff when he's done one, but what is a girl to do?
Do I just taper it off taking EOD, E3D, then stop or something?
Thanks for your help ladies.

Nope, no need to run anything post-cycle and you don't need to taper the dosage (although you could if you want). You can simply stop taking it. Nothing else is needed.

Actually Aboot... as a female... anavar does tend to have some post cycle side effects that we need to deal with!
Believe it or not, i feel that post cycle therapy (pct) for women is something that should be considered for many reasons!
A taper i have found out from personal experience doesn't really do anything... so just stopping is fine imo

I feel post cycle therapy (pct) should be considered due to these reasons:

  1. Depression: MANY women report depression post cycle. I personally got it really really badly last nov, so now the last week of my cycle, i start cycling in 5HTP. You can also use St. Johns wart or valerian root etc...
  2. Estrogen Rebound: Granted anavar is a mild androgenic, it is still an androgen. Some women experience a slight estrogen rebound. I personally have ALSO experienced this...
One of the ways i counteract it is to take "Twinlabs Male Fuel". This actually aids allowing my test levels to lower but not drop, thus preventing an estrogen rebound. When a hormone drops suddenly another one always tends to increase to counteract, even though it may not be beneficial to us...
Another way is to use a very very mild dosage of an estrogen suppressor (ie. nolv) to allow the estrogen to slowly level out as the test levels fall post cycle.
  3. Appetite: Anavar tends to increase your appetite. This has a bit to do with an accelerated metabolism, nevertheless, anavar can increase appetite. With that said, I think a strict diet should follow your cycle.
My reasoning for this is that fact that you have an increased appetite BUT have been using an aas, now that that is over, you will continue to experience an increased appetite, but with no Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) anymore, you will not be using all the calories/fuel as efficiently as when you were on. So if you splurge like crazy, you WILL notice a rebound in weight and or fat.
I HIGHLY recommend a clean diet for about 2 weeks POST cycle!!

Those are the 3 main factors i can think of that may cause havoc with a woman's mental and physical well being post cycle...

luv super

Thanks so much awesome info Super!! One more question, I love the stuff, I wish I could stay on all the time. However I uderstand it is good to give the body a break ect... How long is too long of a cycle? thaks

Those questions are not allowed on the open forum.
thanks for catching that babe ;)

Barbie as per your question... which is a great question.. how long is too long?? Well, imho, i don't have a precise answer for that. Everyone's body is different... some women can tolerate a 18 week cycle, some run 8 weeks and can't wait to get off... I'm like you, i wish i could stay on year round lol... i love how i feel on Anavar (var) , however i like to give my liver a break as well as my body in general...
I know competitors sometimes run Anavar (var) or a cycle for the full season which can last 4-5 months...

It is your wisest decision to be under a doctors supervision if you are going to go long lengths on an aas... i suggest to get bloodwork up done before, during and post... make sure your liver values are ok.. also check your cholesterol levels! It is a personal decision barbie and not a text book answer... Feel it out and BE CAREFUL!!! Remember some changes are IRREVERSIBLE! Also, i would HIGHLY suggest a post cycle therapy (pct) after a long run!!

best of luck

Thanks for the low down SuperGirl!!! Just wondering if in the US it's all good to tell your doctor what sort of gear your on... personally I feel a little awkward letting my doc know about this sorta thing. Or do you just get your blood work done, not saying what exactly it's for??
Also, what "changes" are IRREVERSIBLE..????
Once again look forward to ur post!

there is a doctor/patient confidentialty... however you need to find an "open" minded doctor or perhaps one that works with athletes. Not all will be well versed in the arena of aas... When you find a doctor that may not "approve" of what you are doing, but will oversee and aid in keeping you healthy while "on" then you need to be 110% honest. The only way they can help you is to know all the facts...
OR you can just go get bloodwork up and learn to read the results yourself...

choice is yours... my opinion is that it's your body and you gotta live with it for a long time, so i'd rather be safe than sorry... and for me calculated risks are better then uncalculated ones... the lesser of two evils ;) j/k

irreversible side effects for women: virilization... enlarged clits, deepening of the voice, hair growth or loss, organ damage, full chemistry/metabolism changes etc...

I posted this in another thread but I figured this one is getting more attention so I'll repost:

Supergirl, you mentioned in my post about Anavar that I could use a "mild dose" of Nolvadex to come off of it.
What is Mild? 10mg/d? How long would I do it for?
What kind of side effects would a woman get while on it? I know my boyfriend gets pretty zitty from it.
Thanks,

hey girl.. sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you... i've been so busy with my website and training and i'm just exhausted!
anywho... the idea of nolvadex is to control the estrogen rebound post cycle, basically allowing your estrogen to come back up to normal levels gradually.

the dosage would depend on the length and type of cycle you are coming off... the more androgenic the higher the starting dosage...
Unfortunetly there is no "norm" for this so i really can't be exact in telling you where to start... if you don't have side effects from suppressed estrogen, you may not need to use nolvadex at all... maybe an otc ie:malefuel would do the trick... but if you think you are heading for a rebound, then perhaps you start with 10mgs for the first 4 days and then lower it to 5mgs for the next 6 days and then finish the taper with 2.5mgs for the last 4 days (i tend to stick with the 14day rule)

Hope that helps ya a bit... we're kinda in uncharted territories here lol... not many to no studies on post cycle therapy for women, so all we have to go on is personal use and sharing of information...

good luck!!
