Me personally have allways done abit of both, in honesty when i started lifting i didnt know the difference between the two. But recently iv read alot about compounds so for the next 8 weeks im gunna hit compounds only see how i go.
compounds compounds compounds. squat, pull, press and do oly lifts. only isos i do are curls and OCCASIONALLY some tricep pushdowns on the cable pulleys, maybe once a month for the hell of it.
