Confused

Hey guys.

Right now I'm on a diet where I intake very little fat, but a decent amount of carbs / calories because I want to stay lean & still gain a lot of mass(muscle wise)

Would you find it wise for me to first bulk like a mofo then cut down or should I try to stay with my rutine? I want to be able to be pretty large / lean by around April.

Personal Stats: 11.9% BF, 5'8", 173lbs.

That's my problem, I don't know what is best for me personally. The thing I'm doing right now is letting me build up strength pretty well, but I'm not getting as lean as I want to be.

Well if you don't know whats best for you, then we DEFINATELY don't. You can try different things. The best thing for getting lean is doing cardio and cutting one or more of : total cals, fat, or carbs. Just don't cut the protein.
 
Ya. I've been trying to keep my protein intake real high. I've tried Bulking like crazy and then cutting down - I still did cardio / watched my calories and stuff but I ended up with a lot of extra fat. That's the only real problem I'm getting - When I bulk, I gain excess fat w/ the strength. =/

Personally I would bulk untill Feb and then start cutting your calories and increasing your cardio. And when I say cut calories sometimes that means a bit of protien too. A calorie is a calorie. Dont care what anyone says you cant shovel in 400 grams of protien a day and expect to get ripped. That is unless you are on a DNP, Clen, T3 and Winstrol (winny) cycle. I would drop your caloric intake by 200 every 3 days and on day 4 spike them a bit. Trick your body with the High Low intake of calories that way your body doesnt have time to supress its metabolism.
This is just what works for me. Some other guys may have better things to say.
 
It's really hard to gain decent mass if you try to not gain fat. It's easier just to accept some fat gain while you bulk up.
