Confusing guidance from Endo nurse. WTF?

First post on the forum. I really appreciate all the great info. Here goes...

Had Physical with GP early Feb. Total T comes back at 247. Was referred to Endo.

Endo examined me and told me to wait three weeks to test again. If total T came back low, he would recommend treatment.

Had blood work done four days ago. Endo nurse just called and said my total T is at 252 which is in range. "Everything is fine". The bottom range she had was 250 from the lab.

Confused, I asked her if the Endo actually recommended no treatment. She stammered some reply that didn't make sense. I explained to her that a T of 252 would be below average for an 80 y/o man. Nurse said she would consult with the Endo and get back to me.

I suspect she may have just grabbed the results, looked at the ranges, and called me without consulting with the Endo. Impossible to know for sure.

How could a nurse for an Endo not know that a T of 252 is super low? How big of a red flag is it that this occurred?

Given no other causes have been identified and with a consistent T of around 250, wouldn't I be a prime candidate for TRT?

I have almost all the symptoms that come with TRT and was hoping to get some help.

i agree super low need that fixed asap. give us a call so we can get you on a safe and effective program.

Get your ls and fsh levels checked see if you are primary or secondary. But if your endo is saying 250 isn't low then I would find another doctor. Try IMT or look for a mens health clinic/anti aging clinic. Make sure you check the ls and fsh though, my levels were exactly where yours are now when I first hopped on trt without knowing the cause and I will probably never know. One thing I can tell you from my short experience with trt is that it takes patience and a doctor that knows how to treat it otherwise its like pissing into the wind. How old are you?

yea i def would find another doc... i was at 220 myself when i started trt

I appreciate the replies.

I'm 51 weigh 250 at 5' 11'' with a big gut. I have APNEA and use a CPAP but was sleep deprived for decades. Otherwise in decent health just have felt like shit since as long as I can remember.

I am 32 and started with those levels right around 230. Ive looked into IMT and they will be my next move if my doctor I have now fails me. Leave the endos, most have no idea how to treat low t. If your doctor won't test your estradial level then just walk out.

Tell that Doc or Nurse to step in to your office and when they ask why you say because your Fucking Fired!

What part of the country r u located? Some one may recommend a doc near you on the forum. And if that doesn't work out and you can afford it with out insurance call increase my T or just call increase my T anyways and see what they have to say. Its just a phone call away;)

I live in Glendale, Arizona. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Just received the follow up call from the Endo nurse. Apparently Endo doc feels a total T of 252 is within an acceptable range and treatment is not necessary.

Of course this contradicts almost everything I've read about low T. Baffling. I regret the time wasted, but I am happy I can change to a more knowledgeable doctor before I got to deep into this.

Still, how can an Endo not know more about low T? If he didn't want to treat me, why didn't he just tell me? Why would a total T of 247 warrant a follow up test but T level of 252 is okay? Makes no sense.

I lived with that T level you have for 16 months and felt like walking death.....
Tell her to go F herself if she thinks it's normal.
B.T.W. most endo's don't give a damn about T levels...there are some that do. But the vast majority of them are not up to date or cognizant of what optimum T does to a man. They mostly make their money off diabetic patients.
